<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In a team film session Thursday, coach Maurice Cheeks reportedly was making a coaching point to Darius Miles. The player then directed a racial slur at Cheeks and shouted something about not caring about losing "20" games in a row because Cheeks is going to get fired anyway. It went on and on. And Miles was asked to leave the practice facility by Cheeks, to which he basically said, "Make me." ...It's exactly what Miles dared Cheeks to do, full well knowing that the coach is dangling from the NBA coaching cliff by his sneaker shoelaces. On Thursday, GM John Nash said he'll support what Cheeks wants to do. </div> Full Story: THE OREGONIAN It may be a very unwise business decision to waive Miles, given his contract and the amount he's due, but certainly he could be sat down or traded in a package deal. Perhaps a move along with a Nick Van Exel or a Shareef Abdul-Rahim. Regardless, this news will certainly respark trade rumors for the entire roster down in Portland...
Damn. The more we pay these players the more they act like babies. I'm really getting sick of this. I wish the NBA could start paying players 50k a year. Maybe then they won't act like such ungrateful pieces of *****.
just horrible.. sure Maurice Cheeks should be fired due to his lack of coaching ability, but Darius should not have said the things he did, that is uncalled for.. i don't think they will waive him though.. thats too much money wasted.
Not waive...Miles still has lots of value. If those statements are true, either bench him, suspend him, or trade him. Sad though, because he has a load of talent.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting J-Rich23:</div><div class="quote_post">^He will probably be traded soon. Hopefully to the Warriors for Mike Dunleavy </div> LOL only if you take Mo Cheeks too
Miles won't get traded. Nobody will take on his contract until he proves something again like he did last season. Cheeks is more likely to go before Miles.
Statement from Miles from Blazers.com: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I would like to apologize to all of our Trail Blazers fans for not being a part of the team these next two games and for not being able to help us win. Things were said in frustration and I am sorry for that. It is very important to me that our fans understand that I am committed to winning and that the losses we have had this season have been difficult for all of us. My entire focus when I return to the team will be on winning and helping us make a run for the playoffs. - Darius Miles </div> Well, it looks like he regrets his actions.
The Blazers shouldn't trade Miles because of this. He's a good young player, and could be a big part of the Blazers for seasons to come. Both Miles and the Blazers can work to put this behind them, and get back to playing the best Basketball they can together.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">Trade for Ridnour!!!!!!!</div> The Sonics wouldn't do that. They're playing great right now with Ridnour starting, and they don't need to fix what's not broken. Miles would cause chemistry problems, and the Sonics simply just dont need him at this stage of the season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Blazerfan101:</div><div class="quote_post">Trade for Ridnour!!!!!!!</div> pffft!
Waive Darious Miles? Never that. He didn't get traded, so most likely his minutes go down. Players get frustrated, and unless you're right there to see what happens the outside will always jump right into conclusions that the particular person is a loser now. Just because Darius did something bad doesn't mean he's a selfish guy, lol.
