<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Streetball2k3:</div><div class="quote_post">props to thefranchise3 ^ no way raptors should make this trade, it is terrible. Marshall has played amazing with the raptors and barry is more of a sf. Peterson can be clutch at points and rad is definitly not clutch. DONT DO THIS TRADE GG</div>

I can understand your devotion to Marshall, as he has been fantastic this seaosn, but have you actually seen Barry or Radmanovic play more than once? Brent has run the point all season beautifully, and Rad has come up with quite a few key buckets down the stretch. Many more times than Peterson, who has been in the doghouse a lot this season. Personally I would prefer Curry in this deal.

EDIT: From what I've heard the deal would be a three-way if it does go ahead, which it likely won't. Davis, Barry to TOR, Vlad and Mo to Portland, 2005 1st rounder from Toronto to Seattle, Marshall to Seattle.

I was hoping Marshall wouldn't be involved but this actually doesn't sound too bad (compared to MoPete & Marshall for Barry & Vlad). Dale Davis is the perfect type of player we're looking for (a little too old IMO though) and Brent Barry will fit in perfectly. I say GG should take this if it really is an option. I'd hate to see Marshall leave though.

Glen is that kind of GM that on any case, hes very stingy with players, I highly doubt this deal will be done, it took him a long time to bring Marshall, Rose, and Baxter here in the first place, when the deal was already as sweet as it could be (for players who were almost nothing to him).

I know this doesn't sound like a good deal right now, but at some point the Raptors are going to have to make a few bold moves in order to be true contenders in the next season or two. They're a decent team right now, but unless they absolutely catch fire during the playoffs, this team isn't going to make a serious push for the conference title. As the Slam article states, this trade could likely be a precursor to another deal for Toronto. They may be attempting to acquire a center in order to shift Bosh over to forward, I don't see a situation in which Moiso would be inserted into the starting lineup.

Didn't notice this post Des, Davis and Barry going to Portland would help the Raptors out considerably more on the front line. Those are two smart, veteran players with playoff experience (mostly Davis, but...), this sounds like a better deal if the Raps are trying to win right now.

Theres only a few hours till the deadline, and it doesn't look good for the Raps. GG please pull the trigger on a good trade. Don't do the sonics 1. But please GG, we need a true PG or a big man, do something. Times running out!!!!

sorry, but donyell is better then vlad, and barry would prolly opt out at the end of the season, so really we'd be giving up donyell for vlad. horrible deal. plus it gives us something we dont need. we need a center. it really pisses me off to see rumours surrounding players like vald and barry when we should be looking at players like dampier or another decent big man.

with the injuries to bosh and vince, i doubt this deal will go down. donyell is all we got for offense right now

I would hate that trade, the only person I want there is Brent Barry because I have watched him play and he is the most overrated player in the WORLD! I would love if he were on the Raptors but I dont want Marshall to go. Maybe we could have a three way deal with Portland Toronto and Sonics. Just replace Dale Davis with Zach and I'll be happy [IMG]

Yep, no trades, oh well, i wouldnt want that Raps sonics trade anyways, but i would like the Deke trade to go thru...but i guess this is the best option for the raptors, until next year, we are definitely out of the playoffs, and no Antonio Davis to win the rest of teh games with Vince out like last year

Oh well, I thought KO would make a difference when he came, but his attitude is just as bad as anyone else. I hope he gets fired because he does not even want to stick up for anybody on his team. The fighting spirit is gone.

I'm glad no trading occurred because I wouldn't want any rush trades to happen that could hurt us in the long run. Keep your head up rap fans. With Montross and Olajuwon's salaries coming off the books and contracts expiring (MoPete, Bradley, Curry and Palacio) at the end of this season, we're bound to get some great talent in the off-season to solve our problems.

Even if we did make a trade I doubt we'd be a contending playoff team. Face it, we don't have any great talent on the trading block so we shouldn't have expected anything great in return. Good decision on GG's part to play it safe.

If you're talkin about Dikembe trade, it was reported as well a trade with MoPete, and Rose for Dikembe. As for AD, yea, it was 2 years ago actually.

Good post, finally someone thinks outside the box. With those contracts expiring, we will likely get a solid pickup in the off season. I don't blame Glen this time, and no one should. Once the Raptors get healthy, a 41-41 final record will get us into the playoffs, and what seems to be around the 6th spot in the east. We've got a fairly solid lineup (when healthy), but we all know that we aren't contenders, we've got to be patient and see what happens in the future. Besides, acquiring a mediocre player now won't do much for the Raptors, hopefully we can expect a solid player in the off season.
