That really surprises me, and happy to see DeAngelo agree to that. I thought for sure he'd be in the 5's. He plays next season, and then you flip him at the DL the following season and the kids play. Really is a perfect situation, because they need him for a transition year next season, and that happened with a reasonable #.
If they have hope of winning a round or two, let alone getting to the playoffs, they need DA around. Next summer or the following year is when Miller and maybe Lundkvist will be up to speed and maybe you look to get something for him. I think they should keep him for the whole 2y.
I think so too but I'd keep DA at least through this year. If he's a 50-60 point player going forward that's not easy to replace right away, plus his ability to get up the ice quickly.
I see TDA raising his value a lot more this season. It will be his second big NHL season offensively and Lafreniere and a year old Kakko should make the PP lethal. TDA didn't even have that many PP points last year. I think next off season they get a huge offer for him.
