I’ve always loved CJ. As an ambassador of the Blazers he’s about as good as it gets. Maybe someday he’ll take Lamar Hurd’s job. Without a doubt he’ll retire out here. I’d still love CJ to be on this very team. But making significantly less and accepting a 6th man role and I’ve been saying this for years. He’ll be fine. But damn definitely one of the Blazer greats indeed.
Will 100% miss the person. That's a rare bird. Even though he spooked the hell out of me when he was warming up out on the court. He was putting up shots and going through his routine and I didn't know he was right there when he turned around and we stared at each other and he was super focused. It scared me lmao. Wish him the best. He frustrated me as a player for sure but I compartmentalize all that ish lol.
That last line cracked me up. Love the man that he grew to become here in our neck of the woods. He embraced this place in a way that few others have and he represented us with class through and through. He’s like the ex-girlfriend that you genuinely loved but knew it just wouldn’t work. You wish her the best and could even see yourself being friends with. He’s our collective lovable ex.
Larry Steel spend 9 years here then retired, I think because of injuries? I know he did live here for a while and coached some. Lloyd Neil 7 years then retired form injuries. He did reside here afterwards.
