I don't really understand exactly why Corey hasn't caught on, although he's not one of my top choices either. Maybe too nice? barfo
Old people like Pete because he’s a fresh young face, but offers the same status quo redundancy they’re comfortable with. They can feel like rockstars but be completely safe from change at the same time.
Yang ain't goin' nowhere. Bernie is too old. Booker, however, is good. I prefer Buttigieg but will accept anyone but Trump.
Winners: On the whole, most candidates did a good job of putting out their positions. Warren and Sanders were solid, Buttigieg weathered attacks. Harris had one of her better nights. Klobuchar came up with best zinger (she is good at that) when she said people question whether a woman can beat Trump but Nancy Pelosi does it every day. Booker shone. His point that the privileged already have legal marijuana but for people of color the drug laws meant mass imprisonment. He called out John Lewis and the debt owed him and his generation of fighters. He also connected reproductive rights and voter suppression. The Georgia Secretary of State purged nearly a million voters, 3/4 of them Black and Latino, refused to process more than 50,000 new registrations, closed polling places, reduced voting hours, and by such blatant cheating barely got himself elected governor. He then signed an extremely restrictive anti-abortion law. Lucia. She graciously condescended to allowing the guests to pet her. Losers: Tulsi Gabbard sounded vicious, personal attacks on other candidates. She tried to justify meeting with Assad by saying presidents need to meet those with whom they disagree, which is true, but that is far different from a private citizen or even Congressperson meeting a murderous dictator and praising him. Then during her closing remarks talked about treating people with respect; my debate watch party guests were like, huh? Biden started OK although saying repeatedly he wanted to "punch back" against domestic violence was a bad word choice. But he blew it all on a HUGE gaffe when he said he was endorsed by the only African American woman Senator. Had he just said first African American woman Senator without mentioning Carole Mosely Braun's name it would have been a minor gaffe; sounding like he could not remember her name (like Trump saying "the woman" because he could not remember Ambassador Yovanovich's name). But saying "only African American woman Senator" when Kamala Harris was standing right next to him was a total WTF moment. Sleep. I wanted to clean and reorder my house before going to bed, so I was up late, then decided to have a brownie before going to bed. Got such a dark chocolate rush I couldn't fall asleep. But it was a good brownie.
Next debate is December. I'll figure out menu after Thanksgiving. Already chosen Thanksgiving pies. Apple, sweet potato, macadamia maple.
Consider mince meat with strictly dried fruits. A scoop of ice cold vanilla ice cream and a hot cup of coffee, which Barfo is proud to supply, and you're in heaven.
Sorry. Don't like mincemeat and don't drink coffee. But I do make great ice cream. Making some for Thanksgiving.
Are you leaving me to make the mince meat pie? Also, how am I supposed to drink my coffee nudge? You're going to leave me no choice but to drink Scotch on the rocks. As if the rocks weren't enough, my Scotch is blended. I prefer it that way and it cuts down on all but the most hard core mooches.
By far the worst debate yet. The moderators were horrendous. MSNBC should be hosting high school debates.
I drink tea at least twice a day but once in a while I love a good cup of coffee, especially if it's Boyd's coffee such as they serve in the Original Pancake House and The Old Spaghetti Factory. I have to limit my self on the number of Starbucks vanilla Frappuccino drinks which I leave in the freezer just until they are slushy because they are both expensive and addicting. Have to have black tea, or better yet, jasmine tea, with clover honey. Wow. Iced tea, has to have both lemon and lots of ice. I used to love sugar in my iced tea, my heritage is Southern, but I'm trying to wean myself of sugar as much as I can. What city do you live in?
Live near Oakland CA. Drive dental hygienist crazy since black tea stains teeth badly. Get cleaning every 4 months, we joke about needing dynamite to blast stains off.
