I think it would be a great idea if this was a wild card debate and the winner moves on to face another opponent and the winner from another debate with the best debate gets a by week.

 

I don't think it should go that far, because some other guys could deserve it too, like TheOkie.

Guys, if we ever do this again there NEEDS to be a panel of judges to make this go smoother. It also needs to be much more organized, this is terrible...

I think we all expected there to be a learning curve here since we were pretty much developing a system on the spot, but this is just ridiculous. Oh well...

 

who is determining the matchups?since there is 5 people, we might have to bring some wildcards back or something. candidates: hang eleven, sunnyd, theokie. if we can bring all three of those we can have an actual bracket.

 

If Tony or someone else doesn't do anything by 9PM ET, I will start to organize the next round.

 

I can be a judge for the rest of the matchups. Let's get this moving again, guys. We might need some more suggestions. Every one enter in 5 good suggestions and we're fine for the rest of the tournament.

 

Since none of you have said anything, here are the matchups I decided:CelticBalla32 vs. CB4AllStarnba dogmatist vs. ballerman2112Justice gets a bye unless you guys want to do a wild card spot to debate him.Matchups were decided based on the most recent topics closed on the main debate contest page, I compared very top winner to very bottom, 2nd to top and 2nd to bottom, and then middle winner was Justice. This was my way of doing it randomly, and I feel the matchups are fair.I will start the topics tomorrow, deadline will be Monday the 25th. I am going to start a new topic asking for a pannel of judges, I am planning on having at least 7 of them. Next round, the bye will be based on the debater who gathered most votes up until that round.

 

Thanks for doing this Nitro, I was out with friends for a few hours. Thats not an excuse though this should have been done awhile ago.
