Ok... so doesn't it make it harder for ISIS to infiltrate the refugee program if the national security apparatus already suspects them of doing it? Are they going to try to hijack planes with boxcutters, now that we are on the lookout for that? Probably not, there are other soft targets. I mean, if you were a terrorist, how would you enter the country? I know I can think of several ways that would be more likely to succeed. But terrorists getting in isn't really the problem anyway. It's that sulky dipshit that lives next door and can't get laid and decides that killing a bunch of people will make the girls notice him. And even that isn't really that much of a problem. How many people got killed by terrorists last year? How many got killed in car crashes? barfo
You said it wasn't a fear. I said it was, and (it always will be), and proved you wrong by citing Obama's officials remarks about it. Which I guarantee Trump's team still holds those fears. Which is why he said in his campaign speeches he was going to stop the refugee program. And which is also why they are implementing extreme vetting and travel bans. Not my fault you don't understand.
I didn't say it wasn't a fear. I said it wasn't a realistic fear. Given the security procedures that were in place prior to a few days ago. You can always deal with a fear by going overboard. Never getting in a car, or being near a road, will prevent you from being killed by a car (unless a tornado picks one up and drops it on you...). Some might think that would be an overreaction, and that one shouldn't prioritize fear over everything else in life. barfo
Like I said, the people in charge beg to differ, and have taken appropriate action. You are far from qualified to make statements like that. So continue to back track, or side step, or pivot, or whatever the fuck you do in BarfoLand™.
The people in charge have taken action. Whether it is appropriate action is a matter of opinion. Obviously people disagree about this, since our policy just changed last week without any significant change in the external situation. And I suppose you think you are? How is it that you are qualified to say that it was 'appropriate action'? Likewise, I'm sure. barfo
