    Reporters got hold of the forbidden math books. Most were K to 5th grade. None mentioned race in any context. Middle school book had bios of mathematicians alongside problems. Some were Black. In one case it was mentioned he was first African American to receive PhD in math. Hardly critical race theory. Some high school texts mentioned race in setting up problem, for example, on prevalence of sickle cell.
    Only math books now allowed are published by Carlyle Group. Their former CEO is Youngkin who ran for Virginia governor as moderate Republican and governs as Trumper. They are big Republican donors.
