haha the Freeland suggestion was tongue in cheek. I don't expect to get a starting C for Joel.

I don't want to miss out on a shot at Asik for Robin Lopez. Maybe it might be prudent to wait for the Dwightmare to end?

New Orleans wants to move him today because they don't want to guarantee his salary

LOL. Sure, we can. We can trade that and Matthews for Durant as well!
Why the hell would Houston trade Asik for Barton and Leonard? Come on man.

For their amazing potential, of course. :)

Next to Lillard and Aldridge, Potential is our best player. Always has been. Way better than that loser Cap Space.

I would take Lopez now, rather than wait and see if we get Asik. If we have the opportunity to pull the trigger and get a serviceable C in Lopez, we should do it. If we wait and hope for Asik, we could very well be left holding our you-know-what.

I don't see Asik as being much more that Lopez anyway and hopefully Leonard splits time 50/50 with whoever we get anyway.

I feel better about Lopez too. He's a big body, he knows how to use it, he plays defense, and he plays in the low post. He's a good compliment to Aldridge, and he's on a very reasonable contract, which allows us flexibility to make additional improvements to the team or even trade him in the future. Maybe he's not a great offensive rebounder, but we aren't going to miss many shots anyway, so it doesn't matter. ;)

    Pull the trigger.

I agree and I think that playing next to Aldridge will do wonders for lopez

I'm fine with Lopez, would be a decent fit next to Leonard were they could split time instead of Leonard getting 15m behind someone else. I would still like us to sign JO because I think he is a great player to show Leonard how to use that outside shot and amazing athleticism, would just be a great mentor for Leonard.

If we can get Lopez on the cheap, I'll like where we're at. We'll have a real center, a fairly well-rounded starting lineup and a serviceable bench. Probably still some money to spend. That'll be a good start to NO's plan of acquiring assets. The team doesn't necessarily have to be set - we will at least have te assets to make more deals.

If Olshey pulls this off he will have gotten TRob for basically nothing (neither of the Euro's would have played for us soon and 2 2nd round picks is nothing) and used good old trusty Cap Space who had bad knees, to absorb Lopez's contract. Two decent assets for nothing. Well done.
