That looks like they rounded up every frat bastard they could find after a night of binge drinking, had them circle the court, and they all vomited their guts out. Worst court design in the history of the universe.

I agree with red/white for the pinwheel (no gray), lose the parallelogram, and I love the retro lower case fonts, especially the vertical 'blazers' sported by the Walton era Blazers.

Can you really use Doug Fir for a basketball court? Isn't it too soft?

It's one of those, looks good on paper, looks like puke in real life type of designs.

I don't like the Jackson Pollack Ducks court at all, if you notice the trees are all the color of dead trees, never a good thing. I like the two tone court if it's done well. Basketball is a game of borders so if you want refs making correct calls, make it easy. Two tone helps that if it's cleanly divided between the 3pt line and the hoop

I had the exact same thought when I read the article. Maple would be the better choice and Maple is a tone wood so it would sound better as well.

I'd like to see a jersey with Rip City in caps with a prominant pinwheel centered on the front of the jersey. The pinwheel to me is the best logo in pro sports.

I would like to see what it might look like to do something with different shades of normal wood tones in the floor and have the pinwheel in the middle.

"KINDA" like this but with the pinwheel in the middle

Using different woods is a cool idea. Unless the ball doesn't 'rebound' the same off of them. I hadn't thought of it not sounding the same.

I think replacing the court is a great opportunity to play with some new designs. Just don't fuck it up. ;)

Actually I think it looks great in real life. Certainly nothing like that image.

I've been to many games at Mac Court, but I have not had a chance to see the new court in 'real life'. Just on TV. I had to change the channel. ;)

That would be epic, but sooooo expensive. Sitka Spruce with some kind of darker wood might be feasible.
