"Right fielder Matt Diaz gave the Pirates a glimpse of the power he can provide when they signed him during the offseason, hitting a two-run homer off Tampa Bay Rays left-handed ace David Price in the fourth inning Monday at McKechnie Field.

Those were the only runs the 2010 American League Cy Young runner-up and the Rays allowed, however, as the visitors won, 4-2, and picked up their first road win of the season. It was their first victory since beating the Pirates (5-6) at home in the Grapefruit League opener.

Pirates right-hander Ross Ohlendorf allowed one run, walked one and struck out two in three innings. He threw more changeups and sliders than he did in his first spring outing."
