Melo061 has still not answered the question -- what did he think Lebron saved the NBA from?Anyway, I don't think that the Lebron saved anything. I mean, the NBA is big enough that it's going to go on. It's not going to go bankrupt or lose its fans. However, Lebron, and various other young players have made the NBA more popular, nation and global-wide.

LeBron didn't save jacksh*t. He certainly is the biggest reason for this great new era we are entering, but the stars of the NBA before he arrived were doing just fine. Wade, Bosh, Melo, Howard, Amare, etc... are also HUGE parts to the recent resurgance, but no single person saved the NBA.

Well, the league was in pretty good shape before those guys were drafted. One of the biggest rivalries in NBA History (Lakers Kings) still going on.Kobe and T Mac both had come off career years in which they averaged 30+ a game. The Lakers had just been dethroned and the whole world was waiting to see how they would respond. The leauge was heading into one of the most active offseasons as far as elite teams getting better in history. The golden boy of the league role was being filled well with Kobe still popular.Yao had just completed his first season and global popularity had skyrocketed (by global I mean China).

No. There are still plenty of superstars in the league in Kobe, Dwayne, Dirk, KG and so on. If his draft class wasnt in the NBA, the league wouldnt be near the same but you cant say that because it is. Lebron hasnt accomplished anything yet besides put up crazy numbers and amaze people. As crazy as that sounds. He is the best player in the league but if he wasnt here, Kobe wouldnt be to bad of a consolation. And alot of people view Kobe or others as the best player in the league anyways. Lebron didnt save the NBA because it didnt need to be saved

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (arya202 @ Jul 15 2006, 04:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Lebron didn't save the NBA because he's not even the best player YET!</div>I can't really say that. Lebron, and Kobe are the two best players in the NBA right now. Lebron is young, but he is putting up 30/7/7 I know those are not exactly right I am just saying. Kobe well he is Kobe the dude is a great player we all know that.I don't think NBA needed to be saved when there was players like: Kobe, Shaq, AI, Duncan, KG, T-Mac, Carter, and so on...........If we had no great players in the NBA at that time yes he would have saved the nba. But he did make it a heck of a lot better instead of saving it. And really it's not just him he was the main guy, but the whole 03 class was crazy good Melo, Wade, Bosh, ect..........
