Really? Ranking their players for the future, Chad Ford and John Hollinger have them at 28 out of 30 in the league. "The team has some young talent, including Andrea Bargnani, DeMar DeRozan, Ed Davis and Amir Johnson. .... Unfortunately, we aren't convinced any of them will blossom into the kind of star performer that would propel the Raptors back into contention. Thus, we've ranked them 27th in the players category. The addition of James Johnson at the trade deadline did nothing to really bump the needle." http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=FuturePowerRankings-5-110316 Sounds about right to me.
But I'm talking about now. And now Toronto isn't a good team. I see Toronto trading Johnson in a trade for another roster upgrade.

That is just beautiful -- really! I still like seeing JJ for the "My bulls ..." commercials on bulls.com
Great find, Jay. Despite the fact that JJ was picked in the middle of the first round where things are very hit and miss, I found him a more intriguing prospect when I heard about his martial arts background...maybe it would translate to exceptional quickness, coordination, balance, discipline, use of leverage, etc...all attributes that can give a player an edge in basketball if you're a smart player. Alas, Johnson has yet to find a way to put these attributes to practical basketball use. I wish him well.
