Maurice Evans is having a great season with the Lakers. Cheick Samb will never become a good NBA player, the Lakers made a good draft choice by giving him away.</div>Totally agree...I was saying the best trade made in last years draft over the Battier-Gay,Telfair deals...Really happy with the job Mitch did and that doesn't usually come out of aNYONE's mouth very often.

Some may not think getting Tyurs was the best move, But I think it was a good one.. He shows signs of being a pretty good player... Thabo is ehh, not much outta him yet

I didnt like the pick the Bulls did for Tyrus...they shouldve gone for a bigger player, one who has the potential to be a low post thread...like Aldridge.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (austingriz @ Mar 12 2007, 08:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>im hereI agree Birds ideal pick was Marcus Williams with Tinsley hurting so much, but I remember watching a interview before the draft and Bird was talking about one special player he and a couple other teams wanted alot. He said if he was there, hes was going to take him. And after that draft, he said Shawne Williams was that player. As far as potential on what Shawne Williams can become, hes can be the Antoine Walker whos smarter. The passing skills, shooting skills, solid rebounder and a very good defender. He cant play SG until he gets quicker...which he will. But weight is overrated when it comes to playing the PF position. Shawn Marion is about 220 and plays PF and hes only 6'7. Shawne Williams would be best to play at SF, but there isnt a problem with him at PF...because if you havent noticed, if your a big man with muscle..your a center these days. Power forwards arent as big as they used to be. I think Bird is taking Shawne slow, simply because of development. If he had stayed one more year at Memphis, he wouldve been a lottery pick easily. But Bird is seeing him as a steal because of they bring him along correctly, he can be that good.</div> Shawne Williams will never be as good as Antoine Walker was. Shawne Williams has never been a good defender. Power forwards aren't as big as they used to be? They've gotten bigger actually.

He's shown that he's an excellent defender, he can play some point, he can defend 3 positions, he's athletic, he's a smart player, and he's a hustler. I can't believe you said that, he definitely has impressed me each and every time I've seen the Bulls play this year.

I like TyTanium, but his attitude SUCKS. HE's got potential to be an awesome explosive PF, it's just that he needs to focus and mature.

He's got great potential, but he's not great enough to act the way he does.

Hes was our best defender on Memphis, and was very good. Shawne Williams wouldve been a lottery pick if he stayed one more year, just because you read some scouting reports on him doesn't mean you know how good he can be...as for me, I watched almost every game he played in college...and for the first 3 or 4 weeks he WAS a lottery pick that year...of course he slowed down alot and became very inconsistant....but theres a reason Bird took Williams, and its because he can become a Antone Walker caliber player.
