I think a PG makes the players around him better, either by drawing defenses or passing. Lillard can do that, while Soup Juggler can't
The best player on a team that went 34-3 and ranked #5 in the nation. And you're comparing roles? Weber State? Big Sky Conference? Excuse me, but....
Waiters at 11 might be in the mix, but before that I pass. His coach said he was the best guard he ever had. So why did he come off the bench for only 21 minutes per game? I haven't got a clue. I could never figure out Boeheim anyway.
Ugh, we saw it the first time. No need to quote yourself and add a ghey billboard. Waiters at #6 is a bigger reach than Lillard, though. I'd be happy with either at #11.
Seriously, I'd rather hear his incessant bitching about who we drafted then his constantly changing calls for who we should draft. Fez has turned into Kim K. there isn't a draft pick (seemingly besides Lillard) whose jock he hasn't been riding...
I'll tell you one thing I don't get in this whole discussion. How the hell is anybody willing to 'pound the table' (to borrow from Mike Mayock) for Liliard or Waiters ... or anybody for that matter. Outside of Davis and maybe Robinson is anybody in this draft really a sure thing?
No, there's no such thing as a 100% chance at a future all-star (well maybe Lebron and Durant qualify?) but I think you can definitely pencil some guys in for good careers (Davis, Robinson) but outside of that select few I'm not seeing a lot of star power in this draft ... or where there is potential star power it's in a pretty flaky package (Drummond, Barnes, etc.). Maybe I'm just down on this draft more than I have been in past years? I confess I hardly watched any college basketball this year aside from a couple of games in person at PSU.
