Dirk creates a lot of matchup problems because he can play every position except point guard. When Garnett can only play Center, PF and SF.</div>What the hell? KG can play every position. He can shoot decently enough for SG spot and is a great passer, which is a good reason to start him at the PG spot. Just look at his apg stats. He averages 5 per game. That means that he's pass-first, score-second. KG would definitely be a great PG. Also, Dirk can't play C. He's not strong enough. Have you ever seen Dirk dominate over a smaller player? I've actually even seen Steve Nash brush Dirk off. That's embarrassing. Dirk doesn't have enough strength to play C.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (mavsfan1000 @ Sep 11 2006, 9:51 PM)</div><div class='quotemain'>KG gets a lot of points off rebounds. He is not a go to player like Dirk. Dirk is a matchup nightmare and is the reason the spurs lost. They had to put a guard on Dirk and go small because of that. I don't think they would do the same against Garnett.</div>Getting points off of rebounds is enough to prove that KG needs to be stopped. He's a menace! KG knows when to leap for the board, when to tip it in, when to "put-back slam" it. Dirk only knows how to wait until one of the C's on the Mavericks grab the board or the ball happens to roll his way. You hardly see Dirk attempting to leap for a rebound. He may average 9 or so per game, but that's not enough for a 7'0" guy. Also, KG is a nightmare for anyone in any position. Guarding him with a Forward/Center isn't effective because KG can burst past the D. Guarding him with a Guard isn't effective because KG is too big for them. You can't tell me that Kevin Garnett is not better than Dirk Nowitzki. That's an oxymoron.
