Whoever played with him hated him. Steph in NJ, Kidd in NJ, there's more but I forgot whom.

K-mart, pretty much hated him too. But I think Van Horn has proven him self to be a very useful 3rd option on the Knicks. Everybody figured he was going to be the next great white player(dont mean to offend anyone)when he came out of the University of Utah . And It didnt help that former teamates like Jason Williams was caling him the next Larry Bird. But Van horn has used New York as a way to prove himself. He has handled the garden pressure very well imo.

Now to Kurt Thomas, I think he is extremely underappreciated by the casual Knick fans. To have a guy that gives you a double-double basicly every night for the last 2 or 3 years is very rare into days NBA. And if you compare his #ers to those of Jamal Magloire, Carlos Boozer, Eric Dampier they are extremely similar or at least in the same range yet the fans of those players are screaming for them to make the all-star team. But Knick fans arent doing the same for kurt. The Guy has been on the trade block for the last 2 seasons. Despite playing a undersized center last season & being the most consistent knick. When Mcdyess cames back from injury, the Knicks just took thomas' starting spot & alot of minutes away from him. And he hardly complained. But soon as the Mcdyess situation finally showed that it was never going to work out, who do the Knicks look to Ol' reliable Kurt Thomas. And he never said "I told you so". He just re-entered into the starting line up.And went back to giving the knicks nearly a double-double every night. Knick fans complain that he doesnt do enuff work in the low block (which has some thruth some nights) but if you spend your whole Knick career as an undersized center you have to create different ways to score. So he uses the mid range jumper to score alot. but thats what comes along with the Kurt Thomas package. As long as his rebound # are there then how can you complain. Knick fans fail to realize that Kurt thomas(along with Latrell Sprewell, when he was there) is the only knick in the last past 3 or 4 years that even resemble "the effort, blue collar Knicks" of the early & mid 90's. Kurt Thomas had a great college career TCU (where he lead the nation in scoring & rebounds). And has improved different parts of his game every year as a knick. He went from a solid backup to a more than reliable starter. He wont truly be appreciated until he is gone. Compared to some of those cupcakes that the Knicks went to war with over the past few years at the bigmen spots like Camby, & Mcdyess. I'll take Kurt Thomas over them in a heartbeat. And I'll take Kurt Thomas in a nets uniform anyday of the week. I hear alot of people saying Rasheed this & Rasheed that. but trust me, the Knick fans & organization wont be able to pull some of the things that they have done to kurt on Rasheed or the whole world will hear about it a 1000 times over again.

I agree. Kurt Thomas is the silent assasin for the Knicks this season. Averaging a double-double night in night out going against quality post players is hard, especially when you've got other superstars wanting to score themselves and a 7-3 monster trying to grab your rebounds from you.

Yes, his future definitely looks bright, but if he stays in a Knick uniform, he wouldn't have a future.

Next up: Dikembe Mutombo aka Blocking Machine.

This season Dikembe Mutombo passed David Robinson on the all-time blocking leaders. Thoughts?
