<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 30 standing ver:</div><div class="quote_post">The man may be stronger then he looks. I wouldn't be surprised if he could bench 385 to 405 honestly and squat 500. He could be like Robinson too, he was 235 for alot of his career until the end where he was 250. But David was an inch taller so it's equalvalent. Or maybe your right. We're just gonna have to see if he gets pushed around alot. But if he can hold his ground and get some minutes he should lead the league in blocks per minute. Like Shawn Bradely but without getting dunked on 80 times a year.</div> One thing about D.J., he has no neck. Robinson (and Yao, and Bradley) have long necks. When he covered Yao, I'd say his shoulder was maybe two inches below Yao's shoulder. So this physical feature coupled with the long arms gives him the incredible standing reach. He'll never be a beast that can push Shaq out of the block, but maybe he'll be a different kind of beast. I'm hoping for a taller Ben Wallace, that's huge upside, but you can see why the Mavs signed him right away.
Yeah they really could use him. I mean they gave up what like 103 points per game. It looked like they were a bunch of 5th graders out there when they would play defense. We will just have to wait and see, when he get's in the league.
