People said that about Curry/Ellis when they were scoring a ton for GS. I'm open to whatever makes the team better. If that definitively means keeping them together, great. If you can get something better that balances you out and make you better, you do it. Nothing from LA's 9 years tells me he would have been comfortable with anyone else taking over. He was bent at Roy, jealous of Oden and reportedly had hurt feelings regarding Dame. The only reason he accepts that in SA is because of Pop and he is playing with his younger days hero. The Clips have been without Griffin for a good part of the season and Memphis has had every injury known to man.....and we still can't catch them. LA would have helped but exactly how bad would teams have had to been for POR to catch them? Last year 7 teams had 50 wins and the year before it was all 8 Playoff teams. This year it will be 3 in the West and maybe 4.....huge fall off.
READ ABOVE!!!! Quit making me cry with tears f what could have been if LMA wasnt such a mental midget!!!!
I will agree the west is worse this year. Oh well, gets us more experience! Fools gold perhaps, but playoffs are playoffs!
How much of a mental midget LA was is tough to even measure it was such a big issue. He was so sensitive about almost everything but yet didn't really want to be the man but didn't want anyone else to be either. Now he can coattail his way to a possible Title with the Greatest PF of all time, a HOF 6th man, a Finals MVP PG, a Finals MVP SF who is one of the most complete players in the league and possibly the greatest Coach of all time. Way to 'lead' LaCoattails Thinskinnedridge.
Yeah LMA would really help this roster out. Without Wes/Nic there's still a ton of shots for DameCJ. We really need a third scorer. Vonleh hasn't improved; normally a long term starter will show glimpses after this long. Jermaine Oneal was a beast in the couple games he got 20mins. That was on an unreal 10 man deep roster. Vonleh basically has that opportunity every night yet his best game was last nights 8 points? Sure he's still young but at this point I find it more likely he's a career backup than career starter. If we don't find a legit 3rd player next season we may start wasting the few years of Lillards prime. In two years he'll be turning 28 when players performance declines. Yeah I get all the problems LaMarcus had and imperfections. It was fun having low expectations this year and greatly exceeding them. Will that be fun next year and the year after? How does this team become more than a .500 squad? LaMarcus gave us a player who had that talent every night. Now we have a bunch of long shots.
Eh, I can see that. But LMA wasn't content in sharing. He wanted a bulk of the shots. CJ gets left out. Then we are right back to needing a 3rd scorer. That's the limbo we are in. We need someone that can come in and take enough shots, but not enough. And also to be able to be copacetic with Dame and CJ and understand the team aspect of things. I don't think LMA was wired to do that Pre-pop.
No. Do we have the worst starting PF in the league? Probably. The whole "developing Noah" meme has not worked, and will continue to not work. He's not comfortable, yet.
We have one of the best front courts. Who starts doesn't matter. Davis, Plumlee, Vonleh, and Leonard are all great passers and we're one of the best rebounding teams in the league.
Part of the difference is Vonleh RARELY gets more than 16 minutes. It's usually 6-7 in the first quarter and the same in the 3rd and that's it. The last 4 times he has played over 20 minutes went like this: 25 minutes...5/6 FG...11 points....6 rebounds...3 steals...+/- of +20 22 minutes...5/7 FG...10 points....7 rebounds...2 blocks..+/- of +0 21 minutes...3/6 FG....9 points.....4 rebounds...1/2 3-pt...+/-of +25 20 minutes...2/7 FG....4 points....5 rebounds...1 block.....+/- of +9 He also had a +25 game in 17 minutes with 9 rebounds against WAS and a +25 game in 21 minutes against GS where he played 'Small Ball' center and actually slowed down Draymond Green while picking up 9 points and 4 rebounds. He has played 15 minutes or less 33 times this season to go with 4 games where he was inactive or did not play due to a sprained ankle. So his minutes have been quite inconsistent and certainly doesn't have a normal rotation of a starter.
I'd love to have Plumlee as a backup PF/C, and Noah is a project that should be a 3rd stringer right now based on his playing ability.
