This is another case where Olshey's "Secret Squirrel" act is growing tiresome. Just issue a statement to the fans saying when we will know.

Not seeing how Olshey can know exactly when Presti will make a decision, or how it's his responsibility to educate us about the fine points of the rulebook.

David Aldridge just said they're going to match, so that's that.

Either way, they lose Durant next year.

This was pretty much expected. People feeling differently were fooling themselves

What does Chris Brousard say? The exact opposite will happen, so let's hope his multiple sauces think he re-signs

I was almost positive the Thunder would match. I really didn't care either way. I just wonder if we make a lopsided trade now or are down?

    Phew!

Okay, now use the cap space to take on the ridiculous salary of Joe Johnson in return for an unprotected pick or two. Brooklyn is in repeat offender territory and that would be saving them untold millions, so it's got to be worth a few picks.

Duh. I can't believe people actually thought OKC wouldn't match.

Phooey. All he had to do was say "OKC has until X o'clock on Sunday to match." What's the big deal?

Sounds ok but not sure Brooklyn has any picks left to trade?

Brooklyn wants to keep Joe Johnson now that Deron is Deron is gone.

But I doubt the owner wants to pay the equivalent of about $50M for the pleasure.

It's not Joe Johnson. He's just the price of the picks. You can waive him afterwards.

Remember, we don't want to get too good - we're tanking.

So tie up our money for a year, giving us no flexibility, and adding no help for the future? It's not like the Nets will give us another unprotected pick after the Lillard fiasco. That would be a horrible idea IMO.

This may have been addressed already, but by what date do they have to have the cap room or salaries under control? I mean don't they basically have until the end of the upcoming season to be under the cap threshold before it comes into play?
