The NBA wasn't behind him. He did that on his own for betting reasons.

Players in the NBA could be doing that in any game played too.

Look whether the refs are doing it for their own gain, or the NBA is condoning / controlling it, it is happening...and if the NBA is not behind it...why have they let it go on when supposedly every game is reviewed....why?

Some of you guys have been reading the book 1984 lately I see.

If the NBA rigged the games, why wouldn't the Lakers and Knicks win more? Those are the leagues prized franchises.

Why the hell would they let a team like Detroit win? Or the spurs multiple times? The spurs are a smaller market than the blazers and tim.duncan is one of the most boring superstars ever to play (the guy has the personality of a pet rock)?

The Spurs: because of names like Greg popovitch, Tony Parker, Tim Duncan...

You think Detroit will win the series against Cleveland....won't happen...it won't be allowed....watch the end of game 1....Detroit got reffed

Also they can't just have the same two teams every single year in the finals or the same matchups in the conference finals...people would get bored....they have to keep it interesting plus plausible deniability.

Pop doesn't like the media. Duncan has the personality of a pet rock. Tony Parker isn't even very good anymore. None of those guys have been very marketable and San Antonio is a small market. It makes no sense at all. That's one of the last teams they would want to win. Multiple times.

Detroit obviously will lose this year. Cleveland is one of the top 5 teams in the league. I'm talking about Detroit winning the title with a bunch of blue pail guys. No major superstar and Detroit is a total shit city.

It's not rigged guys. Stop with the conspiracy stuff.

They need advanced stats for refs. You could easily come up with formulas to figure out which refs favor good teams and which refs favor big markets.

I guess it's hard not to be biased when you are a ref....you are going to favor the team(s) you like. If I was a ref the Blazers would win every game I officiated

I'd bet the Las Vegas sport book already have them. They're the ones who blew the whistle on Donaghy.

With the stats as they are now it doesn't show the whole picture...along with team, personal, and technical fouls, they need colomns for shooting/ on the floor fouls...then everyone would see it...as it is you have to have watched the game and witnessed it...or go back and watch games..

Yeah, especially CP3. He seems more like an annoying gnat with the refs most of the time.

IDK, I don't think the Clips go all Rasheed Wallace or John McEnroe on the refs. They aren't all that adversarial. They just complain and whine on EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION that doesn't go their way, and half the ones that do. And Glenn whines their ears off during time outs. It just wears the refs down to the point that consciously or unconsciously the refs give them favorable calls. Popovich used to do the same thing, but he has the refs so well trained now he mostly sits back and enjoys the spoils of their operant conditioning, only administering the occasional "correction" to reinforce their training.

Yeah it was originally called Blowing The Whistle: The Culture of Fraud in the NBA...he tells it all...and NBA threatened to sue ( though they deny this as they are trying to dismiss his book )

Damian Lillard calls timeout and it is granted. After the whistle is blown DeAndre Jordan procedes to snatch the ball out of his hand yanking his right shoulder.

    Easy Tech.

Chris Kaman lightly holds DeAndre Jordan and the foul is called. After the whistle is blown Jamal Crawford intentionally shoves Chris in the back.

    Easy Tech.

Doc Rivers calls timeout and does not spend any of that time out with his team. He spends the entire time out having a heart to heart with one of the referees.

Are you fucking kidding me?? This is never supposed to happen even on an NBA level. If a Coach calls timeout and walked out to the floor to me, I quickly walk his ass right back to his bench and let him know that if he called time out to have a conversation with me that he wasted his time out.

This shit looks more and more rigged by the day.

    *Part 2 of 2

If real life was like NBA Officiating:

Police Dispatcher: 911, What is your emergency?

Fortune 500 CEO: Help! My house has been robbed! You gotta send someone out right now. They took nearly everything I own! Please help me!

Police Dispatcher: Okay sir calm down, Could you give me your home address please?

Fortune 500 CEO gives police dispatcher his address, it is in a highly recognized, affluent, gated community.

Police Dispatcher: That is horrible sir! The police are on there way to the address you provided and will be their shortly for you to file a police report sir.

Fortune 500 CEO: Thank you so much for all your help.

Police Dispatcher: Just doing my job sir. Have a great day sir.

Police Dispatcher hangs up the phone.

Fortune 500 CEO: What a bunch heroes we have protecting us.

Care to guess which part represents teams like the Blazers and which part represents teams like the Clippers?

Bottom line, the more respected and well known you are the more protected and catered to you are by authority.

The NBA is driven by personalities and you have to have more than one star to win. The fans respond to stars. The owners respond to the stars. And the REFS respond to the stars. We have Dame but he doesnt get the respect of a signature star. He's not viewed in the same way as Stephen Curry or CP3 or Tim Duncan. Dame makes up for his lack of exposure with brilliant marketing and leadership ability. But the league doesn't give him or his team that same deference. And I doubt they ever will. No. It's not fair. But who said pro sports was supposed to be fair? The Blazers aren't able to get the best free agents..... The Ducks don't recruit a concensus top ten football recruiting class....That's the way it is. Just be glad we are competative and that we have a team.
