No , I don't agree . Yeah he's good , and he's been improving . But I don't think he should have gotten the MVP . The one thing I don't like about the Pistons , and the media and what not is , there not giving Sheed enough attention Yes , Sheed , he's my favorite all time basketball player , and I feel that he deserves something . They give him attention , but Sheed has helped out that team . A lot . The chemistry that Sheed and all them have is bonkers , but you never hear them talk about him .
I think that the whole team should of got Finals MVP this year. All of the players on the Pistons were great: Billups and his scoring, Hamilton with his scoring and making key plays, Prince with his great defensive skills, Rasheed Wallace with his awesome inside offense and defensive game, and Ben Wallace with his perfect defense and improvement on his offensive capabilities. But KS1, you're absolutley correct. Ben Wallace dominated the NBA Finals this year, and before they announced the Finals MVP, my guess would of been him. He came up with the amazing boards, especially the offensive ones, that really turned around the series and that is a part how the Pistons won this series. But since Billups has a great free-throw shot, and scored most of Pistons points, I have to hand it to him, and it was the people just like you who voted for him. So please don't complain. What happened, happened.
Billups was a good choice. He scored the most for the Pistons and had a good number of assists. However, it should have been a team MVP. Every single Pistons could have been justified winning the trophy. Billups: Scoring/Assists Hamilton: Scoring/Playmaker Prince: Defense on Kobe/Hustle Plays Rasheed: Great post presense (when in the game, probably hardest to justify) Ben: Holding the defense together. Everybody was worthy, and everybody could have won. They just choose the guy that had the stats, since a large part of defense doesn't show up on the stat sheet, they can't judge it compared to points.
The key to the Pistons triumph over the Lakers was their defense. And being that Ben Wallace is the center of their defense that gives him some credibility for getting MVP honors. But Pistons lack scoring and Chauncey Billups was their primary offense option, and being that the Pistons don’t have a lot of offense, that made Billups stand out. So this could have gone either way. This was a coin toss IMO.
I agree. Without reading anyone else posts, I said that from the minute they won the 5th game in one of the posts following the victory. The rebounds he got sealed the victory.
Mvp Well, i do agree that Big Ben should of got MVP, but i was also pulling for Rip as well. I give Chauncey mad prop's because he did his thing through out the whole post season, so big ups to him.
well you know the fan votes only counted for like 1/10 or something like that of the mvp voting... anyway they all really deserved it, but i think rip totally deserved it the most... i'm not just saying that b/c he's my fav. player either! the lakers wasted so much of their defensive effort on him which gave the rest of the team (especially chauns) wide open shots and more opportunities to score... also he ran kobe ragged, which was a great contributing factor to why kobe sucked on offense... and he managed to score a lot in the finals, his passing ability greatly improved (b/c he was hounded and/or double teamed a lot), and he was great on the offensive boards... yup rip should've been mvp, but really you could make a case for any of them... OMG this is random, but i met chauncey's really distant cousin at work... i'm a hostess at a restaurant, and i was taking down names for the wait list, and the guy told be his last name billups... and i said "oh like chauncey" and he was like "yeah we're cousins... really distant" and i was like "rip should've been mvp" and he was like "how are you gonna hate on my cousin... actually ben should've been mvp!" yeah that is just my random story, but even his own cousin thinks he shouldn't have been mvp!
