Carmello doesnt deserve a spot period. After all hes done this year and the way hes acted and played he does not deserve a spot at all. C'mon even Caron Butler is having a better season then him.
Carmelo Anthony seems kind of one dimensional at this point in his career to be an allstar. He's not really a great defender, doesn't shoot very accurately or wisely, he doesn't take care of the ball a lot of times, and he's not what you would call a playmaker. He can really score (just not on 2nd night of back to back games). Not really a threat from 3 point range. Doesn't have a lot to work with this year because of injuries and lack of a three point shooter. Carmelo has the sophmore jinx looks like. He's still a good player, but he's undeserving of the hype he gets, especially when Lebron is clearly the better player that makes his team better. If Carmelo gets his shooting to at least 43% or manages to lead the league in some other stat other than scoring related like assists, steals, rebounds or low turnovers or something, he might be considered.
Carmelo Anthony sort of reminds me of a slightly more athletic Glenn Robinson. He puts up similar type numbers that Big Dog had in Milwauke, though he shoots a lower percentage.
^But he didn't deserve the spot. J-Rich has had a much better year. The only reason he is a star is all the hype that surrounded him last year
