I'd contract the Lakers just to make their "fans" suffer.

    Nice post King

not in agreement with removing the cap or the allstar game idea, but over all , nice

    I would remove guaranteed contracts

off the top of my head...

-Eliminate the star system of officiating where some players are more equal then others. No other sport at any level has this nonsense. It compromises the validity of the results
-Cut down the season to 57 games. Teams would play conference opponents 3 times per year and those from the other conference once. More time between games would equal better quality of play.
-Eliminate at least one row of seating surrounding the court and have some sort of cushioned barrier between spectators and the action to encourage players to make aggressive plays along the edges. Cheerleaders and camera men cluttering the endlines would be gonzo.
-While keeping the overall player cut about equal to what it is now, I'd tie around half of player salaries to team performance. Players would earn more $ when they're having a successful season. Team playoff success would also have direct impact on player salary
-Technical & flagrant fouls would also count as a personal foul

I really like all of Kingspeed's ideas, and yours too... No cap, no guaranteed contracts. It would be wild wild wild because you could get a huge payday of you play your heart out... Every year. Also, change the way the wages are measured to per game.

Actually, e_blazer, sometimes a post is just a post. I was merely stating a fact. There is pro basketball in the summer. A fact. I don't say anyone who doesn't watch it is sexist. Never have. Challenge anyone to find a time when I have.

You know, Vanilla Gorilla, when I was in high school a group of assholes used to make fun of me for having a big nose. Except I don't have a big nose. I have a very ordinary nose. But everyone knows all Jews have big noses so they didn't need to look. I had a big nose. They could make fun of me for it. No facts needed. Sort of like in your "racial" characterisitics. And incidentally if I want you or anyone to know what I "think" I'll tell you. If I feel like it. You have no frigging idea what I think and please don't pretend you do. Anyone who says what someone else "thinks" is wrong 100% of the time. I'll even tell you what I think in this case: Claiming to know what someone else "thinks" is my personal pet peeve.

KingSpeed, I like #3 but not #6 - they use it in baseball and IMO it's pretty dumb. If a Giant wins the game for the NL All Stars and the Dodgers are in the World Series the Dodgers get home field. I'd say stick with record or do what baseball used to do, just alternate. Luck of the draw whether you get home court/field. Because a championship team should be able to win anywhere.

Making fun of someone who doesn't have a big nose by saying they have a big nose makes no sense, and, once again, I did not say all Jews have big noses. I've seen your opinions on this board, so I do, at least somewhat, know what you think. And what you think is, for the most part, wrong and ridiculous.

Just ridicule them back for having little noses. Blow your nose in the air toward them until they run away. Chase them and use them for target practice.
