I'm here. In the bowl, watching shoot around. I have just found out that there are more than 2 tiers. Not sure how many yet but we're pretty much at the bottom. Good news, I'm staring at the new court and it's amazing! Looks great! Home run by the Blazers. I've just finished watching tonight's opening intro video, very cool! The players even stopped shooting to watch it. I asked our contact at the Blazers if I can take pictures of the players during warm ups and he wasn't sure. In order not to rock the boat I will take them but not post them until after the game.
This is exactly what i was thinking when the whole tier system thing started to get press Via BE. While i totally understand what Dave is saying i just don't think he has thought this through. Just do your best and have fun with it. You really can't go wrong Sly.
Good luck sly! I'm sure you'll do great. You're the right man (I mean dog) for the job to get our foot permanently in the door
QT Sly "I could do a Quick and peek through some blinds, giving you forbidden access. I could do a Canzano and report on a disadvantaged fan, something to tug on your heartstrings. But neither of these are original and the whole peeking thing would probably get our Tier 2 status revoked. " best of both worlds..peek through the blinds at a disadvantaged fan.... Hey bud..have a great time. I know you will do fine
Was just sitting on the Blazers bench with Sarah Hecht watching shoot around when Chris Kaman sat beside us and started asking us questions if we had seen his show. Hell of a nice guy, funny as hell. Part of me wanted to take a picture with him and ask for an autograph but no worries, I played it cool, I played it media aloof. I still smiling from it. Kaman is a great fit to Rip City.
A couple of quick notes before go off in search of something to eat: I have given my very own tier. I'm not sure if it's tier 3, 4 or 9. It might be the SPD Tier. I look at it as a honor, a compliment to me and this forum. This special tier gets me access to the court but I am not allowed in the press room. No stats, series history and post game quotes. Tier 1 has locker room access, Tier 2 has press room access. Tier SPD is floor access. It's cool but I'm sad I won't be able to enjoy the free opening night press buffet. The only thing bad about having your own tier is that no one, not security, not the ushers, not even members of the press have seen Tier SPD before. This means I'm getting stopped a lot. They carefully look at the pass, then me, then the pass again. Oh well....
that's ok, Sly. If we do our jobs right, maybe they'll be asking you for a copy of our stats and series history for their postgame quotes.
First breaking news, exclusive of the night. Instead of trying to find something to eat I used my Tier SPD access and went out on to the back loading dock to get shots of cars when up pulls LMA in a beautiful Mercedes. The rest of the team has been out on the court warming up for a while now but LMA just got here. Late? Nah, according to security out there (after they first scrutinized the never seen before Tier SPD pass) told me that this is normal for LMA, he's traditionally the last to arrive. And that's why I'm here, bring you the news and info that no one else will!
Did you come across HCP taking a selfie with LMA's rims? Edit: (that sounded waaay worse than I meant it)
Also I haven't left to get food yet because I was told not to sit up in the 200 level until the place cards have been set out first. It's 6:15pm and no place cards yet so I kinda set up here anyways. My laptop has a nice big screen but it sucks up the battery juice so I'm up here in press row plugged into an outlet. I'm most likely sitting in the wrong seat but I want make sure I have enough juice for the game. I'm not sure what happens if it turns out I'm in the wrong seat but I imagine it won't be good for the laptop.
