My baby will be going into surgery in about 10 minutes for an aggressive tumor. It feels like I'm dying.
Got home about 10 minutes ago. He's resting. Doctor believes they got all of the tumor, as with this specific tumor they have to take extra just to make sure they get it all. Sending it to a lab to make sure. He's a very, very tired puppy. Got home and flopped on his blanket. He'll wag the end of his tail if I walk over and talk to him. On the car ride home he was falling asleep as I was holding his head up. Stitches removed on the 11th. I have medication, as well as a cone of shame for him. he'll get both in the morning as he's a licker. I could be better. I haven't slept more than 2 hours in about 48. Boss reminded me to eat and sleep. I'll return to work Saturday as I have a babysitter for that day. But I didn't lose my child. So all is okay.
Now all I'm worried about besides the lab test is the stitches. He's a very energetic dog for 9-10 years old, as well as a leaper. Boy is he a leaper. He can't do any of that and with the stitches being right next to his elbow. He's going to have to take it easy for a couple weeks.
That's an old custom. I don't think they do that any more. They used to do it during the war for food to keep from starving. They also have done it because they use to believe that it made them better able to withstand the hot summers. Now, they like everything American including our food. The poorer ones still eat rice and a Korean dish similar to the Japanese Miso soup.
