I think you need to surround Giannis with outside shooters. Looking at that lineup, I think they would struggle until Dame gets back. I also think the Bucks will struggle this year with their current lineup unless Kevin Porter has a huge season. So I do think there is a good chance Giannis asks to be traded by either the deadline or next summer. I just don't think it will be to Portland.
There was nothing to catch up. You do realize that someone can respond to a point that you make that's adjacent to the overall thread topic, right? You need to own that you compared Scoot and Sharpe to a bunch of guys that were absolutely terrible, and in two of those cases were out of the league in 4 years. If they are actually that bad, they won't be nearly enough to get Giannis.
You really don't understand the statement do you? Okay Nate. Guess you didn't catch up nicely. That's fine. have a great day.
Come on man.... come.... the fuck...... on. You made a ridiculous comparison. I refuted it. That's the end of the conversation. Just own that shit.
When they show me more value than any of those players I’ll let you know. Problem here is not the comparison bro. It’s someone not understanding the point that was being made. Again obviously that is lost on you. Now you go and own that. Have a nice day Nate.
Okay, if they're as bad as you say, they're not going to be even remotely enough to get Giannis. The whole point is moot by your own logic. We'd have to send Toumani and Deni as well.
We don't agree. I think Sharpe and Scoot are good young prospects and if you put them with Grant and a bunch of picks, that could be enough to get him. Telfair and Webster were mediocre role players. Not even starter quality players. They got their ten years in the league but they were both massive disappointments. Williams and Woods were trash and were out of the league in 4 years. None of those 4 players compared to Scoot or Sharpe. The Suns got Durant for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four unprotected future first-round picks. I could see us trading one of either Camara or Deni for Giannis, but not both. I don't think Cam Johnson is as good as either of those players. So maybe Deni/Scoot/Grant and all the picks?
I guess we don't. You ain't gonna get Giannis for Sharpe and Scoot plus picks even if you throw Grant in there with his contract. . Sorry. It's a good premise but I just don't see it. I also wonder if either Sharpe or scoot will be in the league for 10 years. Listen I certainly hope both Sharpe and Scoot meet your expectations and even surpass them. We all want that.
We have something that other teams do not have. We own their picks from 2028-2030 with the swaps and unprotected 2029 pick. We also have the 2028 Orlando pick and our own picks. We can make an offer that most teams can't match.
Then I'm gonna side with @KingSpeed that if Sharpe and Scoot actually improve enough for the Bucks to even consider this (I sincerely question this). Then we should probably keep those Bucks picks and use them to continue to build a dynasty around those guys. Because if they get that good with the other players this team currently has we are looking at competing for championships for multiple years just as the Bucks have been.
There is a massive gulf between Scoot and/or Sharpe becoming solid starters or borderline All-Stars and a consensus top 3 player, MVP caliber, first ballot HOFer who is still in his prime. If you can get Giannis still in his prime and put him with most of our core, we could go get our first ring since 1976-77. You do it.
Now we are saying the same thing. You literally reworded my previous post You wonder why people say you argue just to argue? Seriously bro. That comment was to someone else also. Why didn't you just press the like button in the first place.
Whatever man. I don't know why you have to make it personal. Debate the topic. You compared Scoot and Shae to trash players. I said they're not trash. You said that if they become good enough for the Bucks to want them, we should just keep them. I'm saying that they will never reach the level that Giannis is currently at and we should still make the trade.
To this point Scoot has been the equivalent of a decent back up PG. let’s hope he can improve. To this point Sharpe has shown he is a tremendous athletic talent but lacks the mental fortitude to take over the game and will a win. Let’s hope he can improve also. Both of those statements I made are true. Probably painfully true for some. At this point we all hope they both can become at least solid starters and borderline All Stars.
Yeah but my statement was not the same as your statement. I said that if they're both borderline All-Stars, I'd still do the trade.
Okay. I would not. If those two improve enough to be in the All Star conversation (Again I question that will happen). Then IMO this team should stay the course and keep their picks. Continue to draft as well as possible.
