If you could get Mitchell and Vanderbilt back together in a deal, even better. Add that to Nurk, Grant, Hart, Payton, and Nas. Damn! That's pretty cool.

It's about the NOW! Worry about the later, then. Rebuilds can take 10 years. Whatever on that Foos.

Boston with all their draft picks (Tatum & Brown #3) with the haul, still haven't won the championship. Yeah they knocked on the door a few times but since the 2013/14 season, I think they have underperformed in a conference that was pretty weak for a few years since then. They've had more talent in the East than just about anyone (except Toronto the year they won).

I can easily see a tandem of Dame and Donovan knocking on the door.

STILL? Tatum is 24, Brown is 25, Robert Williams III is 24, Grant Williams is 23... so I wouldn't say that this young core along with the veterans of Smart, Horford, White and now Brogdon and Gallo still haven't won a championship I would say that they just got the the Finals for the first time and have an incredibly promising future. I think that's all any of us want is a legit shot at a title or in other words title contention. They've built a contender and their three and maybe even four best pieces are not even in their prime.

It definitely looks promising for them going forward.

But if the Blazers were able to add Mitchell, and Vanderbilt in a deal, i like the Blazers chances in a series against them.

They are loaded with talent for sure. They are knocking at the door.

Yep. They made it to game 7 of ECF in Tatum’s rookie year and that was only 4 years ago.

Anthony Edwards is paying off. I don’t get the “1st round picks are no guarantee” reasoning. Every nba all star except two are first round picks. I’ll take my chances.

I didn’t (and don’t) think “if” was necessary to understand my point. But I’ll will start adding more words. Maybe someday my posts will reach 1000 words like some posters

I think because Minnesota will be good with Gobert at C, and KAT at PF, so those draft picks will likely be later part of 1st round. Not great.

Yeah, they will do well in the regular season. I do wonder about their ability to defend the perimeter with their 2 bigs in the playoffs.

You could also easily argue that Utah has no reason to consider a rebuild. They have two very good players in their prime. Why are they even taking this route? Portland does have a reason to do it. They have 1 very good player and he’s over 30.

That's why i'm not a Ainge fan. Plus I couldn't stand him in Boston, and as a Blazer , other than that game 2 vs. Chicago, so-so. He's a mad scientist. Utah was a piece away IMO. After a likely Mitchell trade, Lottery bound. Ainge is head strong in his ways.

Just that the Wolves over the years have had numerous 1st picks of the draft and many lottery picks and they have underperformed. Yeah they have a couple (ones) now, that could bring them closer than they've ever been, but man over the last 25 years they've struggled.

Which should be solely attributed to the guys making those picks. I don’t think past performance by other people should dictate future performance by new people. Or the warriors would still suck. And the clippers.

there is no ambiguity there. You said that directly in response to a speculative trade that had not happened, and still hasn't

97% of teams don't win the championship.
