Most of the picks the Knicks own are other teams' protected picks.

But straight up, if NY wanted Dame in exchange for Barrett/Toppin/Quickley/filler/picks... I'd listen.

CJ is like an inch and a half taller than Mitchell but CJ's wingspan is 6'6" and his standing reach is 8'0.5" while Mitchells' wingspan is 6'10 and has a standing reach of 8'4". Also Mitchell is far more athletic than CJ which effectively adds to his size. He also weighs a little more than CJ. So he does have a size advantage.

Zach Lowe is HIGH as BEEP if he believes that the Jazz would even entertain that package he mentioned cause IF the Blazers made that offer Ainge would do ONE of two things --- Fall out of his seat laughing OR just hang up or maybe both.

I swear outside of Woj the ESPN NBA experts and i use that term VERY VERY loosely is a complete joke for the most part and this is a fact -- lol

I have some advice for ESPN -- I believe i heard Haynes in a FA maybe they should get him and fire half of the other dolts THEN maybe just maybe the NBA coverage would be passable on ESPN.

I agree the Jazz probably don't consider that deal. However, you'll find plenty of Blazer fans think it's a bad deal for Portland because of how much we overvalue our own guys.

If I were the jazz you trade him EAST --

Also I think Durant and Mitchell IF and when these deals happen are multi team deals cause I am not sure outside of maybe a handful of teams have assets to trade for these type of players.

My bold but crazy prediction :

Mitchell ends up in OKC -- they have a shit load of picks and such PLUS they just signed Dort and granted they will have to wait what til Jan or so to trade him ( could be wrong ) but he would be a good starting piece to throw at the Jazz

Six first round picks, unprotected, from the Knicks. Even if they have Dame they would fuck it up. Those picks are worth a lot.

Not with Dame on that team, they wouldn't. You underestimate Dame's ability. Those picks would end up being end of 1st. Meh city.

That's fine. I think a young core of Ant/Sharpe/Barrett/Toppin with Quickley/Keon/Walker/Watford would be an excellent and exciting young base for a rebuild. Could be real good real soon-- all of those top 4 have all star potential. Add in several extra picks along with that and we'd be near the top of ESPN's "future rankings" immediately.

They aren’t six picks in a row. We are talking about some picks long after Dame is a top 10 talent.

Tough to have a legit conversation with someone making comments like this.

As a silent observer I figured the end to a "legit" conversation happened when you gave that trade scenario in which we trade a guy who we can't trade for six months, for three guys making over twenty million less than Lillard, and New York not having "filler" to make it possible unless they trade another of their main guys, all of which puts about 18 guys on our roster as we trade away the best player in our franchise's history.

just a review of NY's 1st round pick inventory:

2023 first round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas' 1st round pick to New York protected for selections 1-10 in 2023, 1-10 in 2024 and 1-10 in 2025; if Dallas has not conveyed a 1st round pick to New York by 2025, then Dallas will instead convey its 2025 2nd round pick to New York [Dallas-New York, 1/31/2019]

2023 first round draft pick from Detroit
Detroit's 1st round pick to New York protected for selections 1-18 in 2023, 1-18 in 2024, 1-13 in 2025, 1-11 in 2026 and 1-9 in 2027; if Detroit has not conveyed a 1st round pick to New York by 2027, then Detroit will instead convey its 2027 2nd round pick to New York (via Houston to Oklahoma City) [Detroit-Houston, 11/24/2020; Houston-Oklahoma City, 7/30/2021; New York-Oklahoma City, 6/23/2022]

2023 first round draft pick from Washington
Washington's 1st round pick to New York protected for selections 1-14 in 2023, 1-12 in 2024, 1-10 in 2025 and 1-8 in 2026; if Washington has not conveyed a 1st round pick to New York by 2026, then Washington will instead convey its 2026 2nd round pick and 2027 2nd round pick to New York (via Houston to Oklahoma City) [Houston-Washington, 12/2/2020; Houston-Oklahoma City, 7/30/2021; New York-Oklahoma City, 6/23/2022]

2025 first round draft pick from Milwaukee
Milwaukee's 2025 1st round pick to New Orleans protected for selections 5-30 or to New York protected for selections 1-4 (Milwaukee's obligation to New Orleans or New York will thereafter be extinguished) (via New Orleans to Portland to Detroit to New York) [Denver-Milwaukee-New Orleans-Oklahoma City, 11/23/2020; New Orleans-Portland, 2/8/2022; Detroit-Portland, 7/6/2022; Detroit-New York, 7/6/2022]

plus they have all of their own. I sure can see how the value of "Wow...Knicks would trade 6 picks for DM!!!!" could be really deceptive, especially if at least 3 of the 6 picks were from that list of 4. Very well may not even be a lottery pick in the inventory. Knicks apparently rejected it anyway

What if Dame didn't stay in New York? It's not really place where players end their careers.

Wasn't a proposal... was a hypothetical offer to which I said I'd listen.

As to the questions of logistics--yes, it wouldn't be able to happen right at this moment, but as for them needing to include a main guy to match salary...I don't believe Fournier qualifies as such, and end of bench guys like Brown and Eubanks could be included by us to balance out the roster quantity issue.

So was your issue actually over whether or not a Dame to NY trade was logistically feasible or logically reasonable?
