I don’t really think Toppin has star potential. I like RJ but it would really depend on what the number is for RJ’s extension. I would only like RJ at a certain price point. But imo, Toppin, RJ, and Quickley are not enough of a player package to let go of Dame. RJ would fill the SG spot, but I would rather invest time into Sharpe cause I think at SG, Sharpe will likely have a physical mismatch every night.

Any Dame trade has to bring in a SF and/or PF with star potential in addition to the picks, not just a bunch of young talent. With or without a Dame trade, the goal should be the same: find talent at bigger size. Quickley will never surpass Ant in the starting lineup, and I have more hope in Sharpe becoming a star at SG than I do RJ.

For Dame, I would prefer to get guys like Jaylen Brown, Deandre Hunter, Mikal Bridges, Rui Hachimura, guys of that size, multiple of them.

The other Dame trade I've suggested previously was to Washington for Hachimura/Avdija + picks/fillers, but at this point I feel like they've wasted their last two FRPs on Kispert and Davis and don't really have enough additional value to send along for a Dame deal.

Personally, I think Sharpe/Barrett would make a killer 2/3 combo, Quickley would clearly be a backup to Ant, but an excellent one, and I obviously have a little higher opinion of Toppin than you do. All good though--reasonable minds can disagree.

Yep, he's going to Miami for Bam Bam, Hero, The Miami Sound Machine, Flipper, 4 1st round draft picks, and Don Johnson's white blazer from his Miami Vice days.

In turn Ainge will send Bam Bam & Beasley to the Blazers for Sharpe, Ant & 4 1st round picks and North Eugene HS renamed Danny Ainge Prep.

With that move, Danny will have done way more for the Blazers than he ever did when he played here. Clyde would have rather had Al Bundy.

That is a disgusting amount for Bam. I think you’d have to wait till Nurk can be traded and he has to be an outgoing piece. I would do Ant + Nurk + whatever you can get for Hart + 3 1sts for Bam.

Don’t get why they’d trade Bam for Mitchell though. More likely he goes to NY.

Why are teams giving so damn much for these guys?? We’ll have to wait on details, but deals like this make me wish we were trading Dame out. A few months to prove he’s better than Mitchell or Murray and we’d get an even bigger haul in return.

    Sigh.

I just don't think Mitchell is that kind of player worth that much. Barrett is actually pretty good. Seems like Ainge wins that trade if it happens.

He's not...but New York is stupid so to them he's worth getting the team of current AND future assets.

No wonder that franchise is a dumpster fire on a train wreck.

new york knicks will overpay, they cant risk not getting mitchell

if they get mitchell, they will be relevant for the next 7 or 8 years, being a regular playoff team will make everyone happy (owner, front office, fans) after years of disappointments
