Many ways to take advantage of the new code.
I was getting nothing for write offs for mortgage interest, property tax, and energy investments credit. So I sold my home to my daughter. Now she pays the tax and gets the credit. The wife and I get the double standard and the energy tax credit combine to
enough so , I told my wife to convert her IRA account (a big chunk) to and actual interest paying account at the Navy Credit Union.
There will be no taxes due. :cool2:

Unfortunately, the tax code has been shaping the American for 102 years now.

How can you live with yourself paying zero this year for all the great benefits you get to reap. That's welfare!

It just reoccurred to me an old memory, Tax avoidance is your responsibility as an American. Tax evasion it a criminal act to be avoided by all Americans. All Americans needs to learn this principle.

I didn't know you were totally for welfare. Getting benefits without paying for them. Good on you Marzy.

Well I am not really. Planning what you will owe is prudent, nothing to do with welfare.

The government is giving you benefits you aren't paying for. Welfare. Good on you!

Everything the govt does for you. You're avoiding tax. Therefore, they are providing you with welfare. Right on!

I receive from the government a Social Security check, a Veterans disability striped, and VA healthcare.
What part of this do you consider welfare? Please explain.

Well I don't see it that way. The SS is dreadful ponzi scheme that will never work. It is also over loaded with other social do good burdens that insure it can never work. But when you must play, you have no choice, no recourse. They take but they do not repay in like kind.
But you have no choice but to play. I began paying before you could imagine, way back when, it was a grand deal for those collecting at that time.
I see people all over complain of needing a raise in pay, to keep with the cost of living. Ha! it never happens when you collect Social Security.
    What a scheme!

I do not consider any VA benefits as a "living off of" valid observation. If you do then that is really worth another discussion.

    The Marzy Plan

Step 1: receive govt benefits through the VA

    Step 2: pay no taxes

Step 3: receive checks from the govt every month.

So many of my small business clients are adding employees, adding employee benefits and raising salaries. That is good for them and good for the families of the new hires as well as the current employees they already have.

People can hate all they want but it has had real meaning to real families and I get to see that in their statements every month.
