Both. I'd file a written, thoughtful complaint. Then I'd move on. Maybe someone with some PR skills apologizes. Maybe not. Maybe they offer you some kind of peace offering. Maybe not. I don't think your son will make that mistake again. That's a painful lesson, but it will serve him well. You have bigger things to worry about now. Like whether Pressy will beat out Montero on the depth chart!!!1! Good luck.
I'd repair the bag, then wear it as a coat of honor against overzealous security guards. Make it your platform for when you run for mayor of Portland in 2 years. #MyBackpackDoesntDefineMe
There's a toolbar on the team's homepage with twitter, facebook, icloud font's where you could probably contact them..or the arena has a link on the site. I'd probably let them know at least ..the backpack had already gone through a security check to get to the Pines so their paranoia is overkill from my view..
I am sure they have their policies and, even if overkill, it only takes one mistake to have a tragedy and plenty of lawsuits. I would just chalk this up to "don't forget your bag." It sucks, but this is our life now.
Sorry for your kids loss but... Leaving a bag unattended anywhere has always been pretty silly. Just for the simple fact it could have been stolen. (at least to my knowledge, it was drilled into me in elementary school that this is the one bag I'm getting so I better have it when I get home) But being the bag was unattended for a good bit of time... I'd want security to remove the bag. I like my limbs where they are. Also I don't really think security would have time to go over the tape and figure out who the bag belonged to. I'd rather security not to waste any time with removal of an unattended bag.
more I think about it..I'd probably chuck it up as a loss..fix it and feel I could enjoy going there without it being an issue
If it's adidas, you should tweet at Dame and see if you couldn't get something for your troubles? PR would be pretty sweet for Dame, not so much for the Moda Center. Maybe they'll have to go back to the Rose Garden? #makeithappen
Sew up the cuts in the bag. Line it with a thin plastic liner, and then leave it for security to find again. Only this time, fill the liner completely with liquified excrement. barfo
I did email the Blazers a link to this thread. The person I deal with said he didn't currently have any Blazer bags but he would keep an eye out for one.
