I'm real pleased with Dorell Wright off the bench, between him, McCollum and Crabbe we should finally be able to get some shooting off the bench this year. I don't remember what the average bench scoring was last season, but it was pathetically low. Hopefully Wright gets better at not biting on pump fakes when on D, but overall, a very well priced and nice piece for the Blazers. Welcome Dorell.
Think about this.... Last season, our bench shooter was "The Great White Flag" Babbitt. Now we have Crabbe, CJ, Wright and even Watson. Impressive turn around
couldn't have said it better myself. i agree with pretty much everything you said there, especially the last part about the price. great move for us.
And lets not forget Leonard. We might want him inside, but he's actually a pretty good shot. And LMA, and BAtum, and Wes and Lillard. Basically, Lopez, is the only player in the top 9 that absolutely should not hoist a 3.
Depth chart Starting 5 Lillard, Wes, Batum, LMA, Lopez 6) McCollum 7) WMeyers 8) Robinson 9) Wright and really 7, 8, 9 are all tied.
i'll play it out like this: PG -- Damian - CJ - Earl SG -- Wesley - Allen - Will SF -- Nicolas - Dorell - Victor PF -- LaMarcus - Thomas - Joel C -- Robin - Meyers - Ha (that's right, Ha Seung-Jin, who will be signed sometime in late July!)
I think until Crabbe proves a little bit, Barton will be ahead of him. Also, I suspect CJ will be primary backup for both guard spots.
I will be really curious to see if Victor makes a jump this season. I can see where the potential is there. If he does he may get more burn than you think. We really could go from the worst bench to 10-12 deep team.
Barring anymore signings, if everyone is healthy, who do you think the inactives would be? Watson and Freeland, I would think, unless a match-up dictated that a third center would be needed, in which case it could be any one of Barton, Crabbe, or Claver.
i think Victor has a nice all-around game. he could make a jump this season. agreed that we could have a 10-12 deep bench.
