Democracy is messy. The public needs to know everything that's going on so we can be informed unless it impinges on credibly classified issues. Career officials ought to be deciding what's classified and what's not.
Because when you have so much influence over the tax system, and many other systems, I think it's in the public interest to have full disclosure of your business interests and operations. Trump isn't being subjected to extra scrutiny, in this case, he's being subjected to the kind of scrutiny the American public has come to expect from Presidents/Presidential candidates.
The people accountable to the electorate ought to be deciding the policy of what is classified and what is not.
