    VITALS: 6-11, 240, Ulker (Turkey)

OVERVIEW: Pachulia is a native of Georgia turned in a strong season last year for Ulker, his club team in Turkey. Pachulia has spent the last four years with Ulker, gradually seeing his role increase over time. Pachulia averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds last season in Turkey's league. He also played 13 games in the Euroleague competition and got a rare start against Greek power Panathinaikos and scored 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Pachulia helped Ulker capture the Turkish President's Cup in 2001 and 2002. Pachulia is listed as 19 years old, although there are rumors that he is 21.

LIKELY DRAFT POSITION: Late first or early second round. Because Pachulia remained in the draft, many believe he is getting information that he will be a first-round selection. While Pachulia likely has not gotten a guarantee from any team, the clubs with pick Nos. 22-29 - New Jersey, Portland, the Lakers, Detroit, Minnesota, Memphis, San Antonio and Dallas - are seriously considering him.

    COMPARATIVE UPSIDE: Pau Gasol

    COMPARATIVE DOWNSIDE: Michael Doleac

    ROLE PROJECTION: Reserve

POSITIVES: With his back to the basket, Pachulia is extremely gifted. He has a feel for the post, rolling off his defender to the weak side for clean releases on the offensive end. Pachulia's instincts give him a good understanding of the game as well. He is a good passer, has above average hand-eye coordination, runs the floor well and is willing to mix it up in traffic.

SHORTCOMINGS: Pachulia is not a great athlete, so shot-blocking is not his strength. Furthermore, he has not finished growing into his body and looks awkward in his movements at times. The training that an NBA speed and strength coach could give him would be highly beneficial.
