I thought DRTG rubbed off from your teammates, not the other way around. Doesn't a poor defender on a good defensive team still end up with a good defensive rating? That may be the case here that IT would be last in the league if he were on an average defensive team.
As predicted for weeks, there was NO WAY the league wasn't going to have Boston and the Lakers 1/2. Any other year, teams move up, the worst team drops a spot or two....but not when it's Boston/LA.
This year look for Olshey try to move up to the 10th pick. He will give up the 15th and the 26th and trade either Harkless or Aminu to the kings. We get the 10th and the 20th and the kings 34th. The 10th we select Collins.
Olynyk is a restricted free agent and the Celtics have tons of cap space. If they renounce him to use their entire cap room we could maybe offer him a contract
Then Anunoby or Jackson fall to 20 and we get them, and get Jordan Bell at 34. That would be fecking something.
His stock has been getting higher but that high? Mere two weeks ago he was projected as a second rounder. His draft combine performances must have risen it considerably though. Let's see. I think there are about 20 players who are 100% certain to go above him. Could he be the new Draymond?
The new Draymond who can't shoot, can't handle nearly as well and weighs quite a bit less with a shorter wingspan. Sounds almost identical...
Draymond doesn't shoot that well either. I think Bell can develop this part of his game too. Embiid was not much of a shooter coming out of college, look at him now. Besides, Draymond coming out of college was not the player he is now either, which is why he went in the second round.
Waych his ecouting combine tape. His stroke from 3 is great. He makes a high percentage on the video. His handles aren't the same, but other measurables are really close
I'm really warming up to Bell. This team needs an infusion of toughness to go with the Nurk effect. Bell looks like he would provide some of that and also seems to have a solid IQ to keep the ball moving to the right location. Could be an excellent fit. Would those that have seen him more than I have lock him in at PF, or do you think he could man the SF position. Given his basic post skills and potential to hit the 3 (at least from the corners) I could see a lineup of Nurk, Vonleh and Bell being a real nightmare for other teams. Also could run an interesting small ball unit of any three of Davis, Bell, Harkless and Aminu.
Why is harkless suddenly getting hated on? Last summer all I kept reading on here was "I don't care who we resign as long as we keep harkless". He's on a good contract too.
The problem with Bell at SF is on offense. He is not an elite outside shooter and he can not dribble in traffic. He will be a good role player in the NBA since he is athletic and is a hustle player. He can guard bigger SF's and most PF's. But the minutes at the 3 should be situational where matchup warrant it. Bell was a good passer in the post for the Ducks, but not on the perimeter or on the break. He is like many other players now who are undersized PFs. An improved outside shot will help him a lot, but not enough to be a SF on a full time basis IMHO.
