Re: Draft Grades! Gametime thats impressive, I think the Texans had the best draft because trhey got so many 'once-projected-first-rounders'
Re: Draft Grades!
Don't contradict yourself. You say the 2007 2nd round draft pick doesn't take account for this year and then you say the Skins could of had a D if they kept the pick. Honestly I think you got about 80% of those grades wrong.

I'm not going to change the grade based on next year's picks thoughBut yeah, Washington losing yet another pick and the Jets gaining it did affect the grade
Those two lines arent contradicting. In the first part, obviously I'm talking about picks in 2008. In the second part, I'm talking about Washington losing the picks they traded to the Jets to move up THIS year. That trade with New York gave them two picks in the first five rounds and if they had picked better players after McIntosh, maybe their grade wouldn't have suffered as much..Unfortunately, they didn't. Of COURSE it does. If you pick 3 or 4 players, unless theyre all in the first day, you're NOT going to come away with a better draft htan someone else who has 9 or 10 picks. Depth and the future are two of the more important factors of an NFL roster. If you do a bad job securing your long term future in the draft, you're not going to get a good grade because well, that's what the draft is for. However, I never said "the amount of picks means everything"..So no need to exaggerate on the whole A+ to every team with 9+ picks thing. But seriously, a team who picks 5 or 6 solid players (Green Bay, Philly) is going to get a better grade than someone who takes one or two good players. And more picks gives someone a higher chance to do so. I didn't give teams with more picks a better grade, actually I found myself saying "they did a great job with limited picks" a million times in the summaries. I'm not sure if you just looked at grades, but maybe you don't completely understand my grading "system" if you will. So while the amount of picks plays a role in someone's draft grade, it's not a guarantee better grade..Someone can still pick 3-4 great players with 3-4 picks, while someone else picks 7-8 horrible players with 9+ picks. But the Skins compared to teams like Green Bay just isn't an example of that. I've heard a lot of shallow comments in this thread, but that one was one of the worst. What makes you think for ONE second that I know all the players the Eagles picked but none on any other team? There are players I dont know much about in this draft, but I know a good amount about more than half of every team's picks. Four months of studying, it would be extremely ironic if all the players I learned about in those four months wound up on the Eagles. THIS is why the Packers got an A+: Not because they had a lot of selections in the draft.By the way, New England had 10 picks. New Orleans 8. San Diego 8. All were in my bottom 6 in grades.Houston and Arizona had seven picks..The "normal" amount in the draft. They're at the top of my grade list..Both got A's. Why would they get A's if they had the "average" amount of picks, where in your view of my system they should be getting "average" grades.Please..Washington's amount of picks hurt their grade, but I don't base my system around that.
Re: Draft Grades! Here, I put together some quotes from different "professional" sites.FOX Sports: I don't wanna say "cancel their second day picks"..But come on now..Rotoworld: The main thing for me here is the F given to Montgomery. If your second player selected in the draft is not only in the FIFTH round but gets an F, you know you're doing something wrong. Also pointed out is Snyder's emphasis on free agency over the draft. It's just not a priority for them.CBS Sportsline: The grade is high, but looking at their other grades every other team is a bit inflated as well..A 'C' for these grades is pretty low and having no first round pick is the main reason for it. Again, picks matter since you know..its the draft.Scouts Notebook: Just wanted another source disagreeing with Montgomery so you can't say its just Rotoworld. You can look at the FOX Sports stat if you want to talk about Golston and Doughty being "high character guys".Go ahead and say "look their grades are higher than yours", but that's not the only thing I'm looking at. Each source backs me up in a different way and I'm not the only one who thinks Washington's draft had some pretty big holes.Sorry you're a 'Skins fan, but if you're going to get mad at my grade you should go and write complaint letters to all these other sites because they seem to agree with at least one aspect of my opinions.

Then they added Max Saint Guillen who is one of the top guards in the league. they added wr's Jeremy Bloom who has alot to prove and a good wr in Jason Avant who is a playmaker. He has good hands and a good route runner. The Eagles solidified the postitions they lacked which is what made it a very good draft. No one is being bias. If anybody's being Bias then it has to be you. Laurence maroney is not better than deangelo williams which probably lowered the grade. The Patriots had a good draft but not better than the eagles. you just think they do because of the big names.</div>I said that statement in GENERAL. Just because there high quality guys doesn't mean they'll be great. On a side note I like Avant but I don't think he can seperate from NFL DB's.

Re: Draft Grades! What? Avant's speed isn't good at all, but he does have the 2nd best hands in the whole draft.

"just beause theyre high quality guys doesn't meant they'll be great." Yeah, you run that risk with every PICK in the draft whether its a high quality guy or Mr. Irrelevant. But the fact that you just said "theyre high quality guys" backs up my grade for Philadelphia. They drafted a bunch of HIGH QUALITY GUYS..If you want me to add "However all these picks may not wind up being great" at the end of every summary I gladly will, because that risk is run for every team.
Re: Draft Grades! GotSkillz52 - I was just saying that. And I didn't get what you meant by saying "Really because He's a WR."GaMeTiMe - You are right, I just think the Eagles took the most risk. Justice, big attitude problems but a good player, Gilles, lazy but a good player, Avant - Slow, good hands, good team player. Maybe you guys did do good, and I'm to stubborn to see it, I don't know.
Re: Draft Grades! I don't consider them "risky" picks..They just have negatives to their game, just like every player in the league and draft. Hell, Justice's incident isn't even a negative to his game.Antonio Cromartie and McNeill are "risky" picks for San Diego because of injury problems and many questions about Cromartie's game.
Re: Draft Grades! Handz I thought u were referring to Avant in other way. I thought u mean separate from the db's like he's going to be a db and be good.
