It is inconsistent. All part of the 'smoke show' the final days before the Draft.

There's a few guys who can report through the bullshit. Givony is generally trustworthy. I think Fischer does enough due diligence as well. Stein of course also is very careful.

But sources like Hoopshype, some newbies from the Athletic, I wouldn't trust.

    This week is madness.

Givony just said on the Lowe Post that Schmitz is still a resource for him but is more judicious of what he shares.

Givony also suggested Phoenix would be open to trading Cam Johnson, so I wouldnt take him seriously.

Givony is not the first person to bring that up.

Cam Johnson has been my target since January. I specifically mentioned how Phoenix might look to moving him (and Saric) to reduce their tax burden after any Ayton extensions.

I honestly don't think it would take 7 to get him. Like him so much better than Grant and Collins, and probably OG too. Stellar defensive metrics and elite 3pt shooting on volume. Fits the age bridge between Dame/Ant if we care about that sorta thing too.

I would like Ayton in a Sign & trade with Nurkic.

then add Collins and hope Nas is ready to break out

I know he’s injury prone but I would love to get Hayward and one of those picks:

This isn't directed words anyone so please don't get all offended, but why do people want a high priced center so badly? It hasn't been the winning formula for championships since Shaq and he was a freak and only won with Kobe and Wade by his side. Please no Ayton or even Nurk if the price isn't right and it won't most likely be.

It would cost us 30 million per year salary for 2 years to obtain Hayward and the 13 or 15 pick.
Sounds like we would have to add a decent player to match salaries. (plus EB)
Not worth it unless Hayward was injury free.

I think we absorb Thybulle in a trade where we give up much less than what he’s worth and Cronin gets tons of praise on this board.

I trust Billups more than Doc to put Thybulle in position to succeed

If I’m being honest, I wouldn’t hate it. I’d be concerned about now have two injury prone guys at SF. But if Nas can shake these freak accidents off, he’ll be one of the main reasons I don’t mind this trade. I’d actually prefer he play something like 25-28mpg while Nas plays the rest.

I’m not totally sure how we pull it off though. Bledsoe + Winslow gets you to $23m, you could probably get creative with third teams or the $3.2m and $6.5m TPEs to match what they need. So after any trade for Hayward, the team would look like this:

    Dame/Ant/Hayward/____/____
    Ant/Hart/Nas/Watford/____
    Keon/Keon/____/Brown III/____

Geez, if bring in Hayward though, you almost HAVE to draft a guy like Sochan and hope he makes an immediate defensive impact. I’d love to be able to be in a position to draft a guy like Sharpe or Mathurin at #7 and trade up with our other picks to get high enough to get Sochan. I’d settle for Sochan and Duren as well though. I think you need a high energy big that can potentially dominate defensively eventually.

If you could trade down from #7 and add Keon for #10 and Hachimura, you could probably get Sochan and Duren at #10 and #15.

    Dame/Ant/Hayward/Hachimura/____
    Ant/Hart/Nas/Sochan/Duren
    ____/____/Sochan/Brown III/____
This doesn’t include use of #36, #57, MIL 1st, MLE, or the $20m TPE.

I don’t mind Nurk being back but I don’t see him as a long term solution. Hoping Duren can start soon if he were on this team.

I like the idea of Thybulle more than I like the actual player. Great defensively but can’t shoot. I do agree in that I’d trust Billups to maximize Thybulle more than Doc. Already 25, so his upside may likely be what we see today, but having Thybulle, Hart, and Little interchangeably is nice.

Not sure what PHI would want though. I’m not giving up Little, I still think he will be the better player. I would consider Hart, #36, and #57 for Thybulle and #23 though.

Thybulle and Little in the game at the same time would be a nightmare offensively, but being able to sub in either guy in crunch time during timeouts on defense will be a luxury.

Two years on All-Defense, do you just trade for him and try to lock him up on an extension this summer? If we’re trading for him, I hope we will. Already an immediate impact on defense, can only get better, and all indications so far are that Billups can develop young talent.

Holy crap, PJ Tucker is worth all that?? You have to find a way to get Thybulle here. Thybulle fits the Covington TPE, give us #23. Did I overestimate Thybulle’s value? I don’t get it.
