Guy doesn’t look anywhere near ready physically but is an interesting developmental project.

Me too. If we go defensive 3rd guard, he's the best of the bunch to me.

Size and offense probably limits his ceiling to quality rotation player, but he has elite POA and team defensive IQ/instincts.

Yeah, Damian isn't going anywhere. You never saw LaMarcus doing this.

True leadership...a rare quality...Chauncey Billups will be a GM one day because he did this his whole career...a true student of the game

Yeah he seems like he's a couple of years away, I wonder what Dame would think of that?

He'd think a rookie contract would free up money for Lebron, duh

You know how we basically sit around and talk basketball? You know how you do it with your friends, co-workers etc?

I don't think there's one GM on the planet that doesn't do that with most of his players. Also, I don't think there's one GM that doesn't have have an intimate relationship with a player he drafts that becomes the best on the team. And, I'd wager to say most GMs at least make a good attempt at having a good relationship with the team's best player if they draft them our not.

MFs in here that act like that same GM shouldn't consult said player about adding players to the roster. Players the best player may have to coexist with for years.

You'd consult your best player EVERY time and you'd be smart to do that. Or you'd be STUPID and add Detlef Schrempf to an already loaded roster.

You consult, but you don't refuse to make good moves because you're afraid of your star being a little upset. If that was the case, we would be paying Plumlee $13M a year and wouldn't have Nurkic or Collins.

Or think of this from the other perspective. What top 10 player in the NBA would actively watch draft workouts when his team has a pick in the mid 20s? I know some people feel otherwise, but I love that Dame is so engaged in the team building process. I'd rather have it this way than him aloof and distant. You can manage his bias for certain players later.

    Nice false equivalence.

Don't compare CJ to Plums... Really??

Also, he drafted CJ. It's not just because of Dame. It's because he has a vested interest in the combo working out.

Simply saying he doesn't want to make Dame angry like it's the only reason is disingenuous.

He should have a vested interest in the TEAM working out, NOT a player combo because he drafted CJ... he is an egomaniac trying to prove he is right instead of doing what’s best for the franchise

He put the WHOLE team together didn't he? You're not making sense. And your amazing fixation on this is tiring. You keep making things up to prove a point that you have yet to prove.

    You're posts are pretty annoying.

You think just because YOU say so trading CJ is best for the franchise?

There are plenty of people in here who disagree with that. You sound foolish.

Where am I doing that? It's an example of a move that players didn't like at the time but ended up appreciating in the long run because it was the right move.
