I recommend you guys all read this article by Rusty Simmons: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/06/06/SP421OT4KO.DTL He generally doesn't seem to know much about basketball, but he seems to have a relationship with West and may be tight with some other people in the front office. Its pretty long so I'll post the bullet points: - "The Warriors thought they had worked out a trade last summer for Iguodala, but the deal, which would have brought the swingman west in exchange for Monta Ellis, was vetoed while the 76ers were in the process of being sold. Iguodala remains on the Warriors' wish list, and they've expressed similar interest in Portland's Nicolas Batum, Chicago's Luol Deng, Memphis' Rudy Gay, Indiana's Danny Granger and Atlanta's Josh Smith." - Gay and Granger could be shopped this summer, Deng and Batum unlikely to move. - The Warriors ideally would like to deal the No. 7 pick, one of their selections in the 30s and Dorell Wright for an upgrade at small forward. - "The Warriors think Andre Miller might have played his way over mid-level money with a strong playoff showing, but they believe they have a good chance at landing Jason Kidd. If Deron Williams signs with Dallas, the Warriors can tempt Kidd with the mid-level exception and offer the Bay Area native a front-office job after he retires. They'd also consider Kirk Hinrich and Raymond Felton, though those players might hesitate at being regarded as backups." - "The Warriors see Kentucky's Kidd-Gilchrist as the draft class' best fit for their roster." - Plan A is use the 7 plus whatever to land a starting SF, then get big man depth at 30/35 and use the MLE for a backup PG. Plan B is try to get MKG, roll with Jenkins at backup PG, and try to land Darrell Arthur with the MLE (Reggie Evans, Kris Humphries, and Kwame Brown are backup options). - Doesn't offer all that much insight as to who they would take at 7 if no trade options are available, but repeats the sentiment that they may move back and try to get Terrence Jones or Leonard Myers, whom they like. Interesting about the Iggy trade that fell through, I'm glad we ended up moving Monta for Bogut though. I love that Andre Miller is atop our FA list, Kidd's a shell of himself but would be nice to back up Curry and mentor him plus let him be involved with the franchise. Also like Hinrich. Out of all the SF targets I like Gay and Batum the best. Rumor has it that Memphis will try to move Gay in order to keep the rest of their FA. As for MKG, there's a chance he could slip a bit. Cleveland reportedly loves Barnes because he and Kyrie are BFFs and they need a SF. Washington allegedly really likes Beal. Charlotte is a wild card but MKG could fall to 5/6 and it may be easier to trade up from there. Especially if he falls to 6 where Portland already has Batum.
