C.K. you can't be serious about blaming AI for his nephew getting arrested. It's not Iverson's job to police his nephew even if the car is registered under his name. If Iverson felt the kid was responsible enough to drive a car under his name, then the kid needs to take full responsiblity of being busted.

As far as AI and CWebb showing up late for Fan Appreciation Night, I agree it was a punk move on their parts.

I'm surprised that this story hasn't hit ESPN yet, this is the only source where i've heard anything about AI drugs and weapons.

Quoting C.K.:

Don't even try to tell me that Iverson and Webber were hurt, just at the exact same time, just as they were eliminated from the playoffs. If the Nets game meant anything Iverson and Webber would be on the court. That's the point, he's a selfish punk and I've had enough of his %^&# on and off the court.

Obviously they weren't injured, but they had an understanding with the coaching staff and the front office that they wouldn't play in the last two games, and both the coaches and the front office were fine with it.

They knew the two players weren't going to play, and they even mentioned it to the media, but the media makes no mention of that aspect of the story.

Not to mention the organization knows AI shows up at tip-off time or a little afterwards on days that he is not going to play in the game. That has been fine with them, and even Larry Brown was fine with that when he was coaching the Sixers.

I also agree that it wasn't a great thing they did by showing up late, but it is being blown way out of proportion.

I'm also surprised that the drugs story didn't hit any major news outlets...

Great post BigMo, I agree with everything you said. Everyone's making a huge deal out of this because of the disappointing season we had and the recent trade rumors.

    Was profanity really necessary?

I think A.I. and Webber should be like the most hated players in Philly. The fans come to see them and they end up showing up late. The GM was pist off at them for doing that and he cursed them out on T.V.
BUT the story about iverson's car is a just a scam and they are just trying to get to him and annoy him. It's not his fault that the car that he was driving had drugs, and guns in it.

If you think about what he has given the fans for his entire career this is just a small blip. I personally think the fan appreciation situation was just a misunderstanding.

Yeah... it will take more than this for Philadelphia fans to turn on or "hate" Allen Iverson.

As for Webber... I think most of us hate him anyway.
