When I was in school I believe OSU had the 5th winningest basketball program in the country. Oh how far the Beavs have fallen. They are all the way down to 25. Ducks are 37.

Most of those wins probably came when Mel Counts was rocking out to the Dave Clark 5 after games. But I'll take your word that it's significant. Besides my dad is a huge Beaver alum and worships the ground Ralph Miller walked on.

My point was that even with how lopsided the series has been the last 5-10 years that series is still dominantly owned by the Beavs. UO would have to win every series for the next 13 years just to tie it. So the jokes on here about “OSU has a basketball team?” and all that are either extremely short sighted or just uneducated. Probably both.

Wait, there are people actually making the argument that the Beavers are better than the Ducks because the Beavers were once better than the Ducks?!?

    Sense perfect.

That's do-able. Tag this post for thirteen years down the line.

Your reading that so wrong I’m guessing it’s on purpose. I’m not saying the Beavs are currently better than the ducks in basketball. I’m saying historically speaking, that series is so dominated by the Beavs that making fun of them as a program is to completely ignore history of one of the longest active series in college sports.

It’s civil war week, so now is as good of a time as any to educate this flavor of the week generation of duck fans.

Indeed. He most certainly did have a respectable career.

Much better than Freddy Jones and Luke Jackson. Who would have thought, at the time?

He was Pac-12 POY. He was part of a team that went to the Elite 8. Not his fault he kept being the afterthought in bad trades. And Luke Jackson was even better before injuries derailed his NBA career.

So let me get this straight. Is it like the Edsel being a better car than the Mustang because it once was?

The Ducks won the first NCAA basketball championship, so they are better than Duke....I like this game

I'm just glad both school's basketball teams are on the upward trend. I like that the right team owns the overall record though :D

Cool signing by the Ducks. Hopefully the Beavers have a strong season in basketball this season (tho I ain't holding my breath).

On the plus side, right now the Beavers basketball team could probably beat the Beavers football team at football.

The Beavs should be pretty good this year. I think they have an outside shot at getting into the tourney. We'll see.

You know who also comes to mind when I think about Pritchard and his potential?

    Steve Blake.

Did they not just finish 2nd in the country last year? I'd say they ARE a national powerhouse.

Miller had a great recruiter in Jimmy Anderson as well who Payton still talks glowingly of. Anderson was a phenomenal recruiter (especially so since he was working with very outdated facilities). Only problem, of course, is he wasn't much of a head coach. If only Lute Olson hadn't stolen away Damon from Wilson - had he come to join Brent Barry, man the Orange Express would've kept on rolling.

First don't call me ignorant. Figure that shit out. 2nd, you just repeated what I said... I know they're the top mid major. I alluded to just that.

"Gonzaga already consistently contends. Due to their WCC ass conference (literally wack) they're always in the tournament.

Save last season, they then get to the tourney and get exposed almost every year."

You maybe only cared about the last sentence where I was half wrong.

You were fully wrong in that last sentence, which was an ignorant thing to say based on the facts. You can't even argue that.
