The voters are going to be less impressed with this win after giving up so many points in the second half unfortunately. I was hoping to make up some ground on OU.
Going into Pasadena and winning by two scores and putting up 42 points on them is a good enough statement.

Royce Freeman is legit. If he can stay healthy, the kid has a bright future in the NFL. He's much bigger and stronger than an LMJ or a DAT.
Perhaps - but the defense still gave up 550+ yards and turned what would have been a pretty impressive win into a "when is that damn clock going to run out?" game. I'm grateful for the win...but this was not a season/coach's job saving victory.

Also very wishful we had (infinity symbol)* guys like Vanderpunch and Ellis McCarthy to stop Gaping holes against a patch job O-Line like today!
Going into the season, I was convinced MH woud ride out MM's final season, and wind up coaching for his job next season. I am no longer convinced that's the case. Coaches are lucky to have a guy like Mariota once in their career. Having the team underperform in his final season is not going to look too good on MH's resume.
Today was a good win overall. I thought the addition of Jake Fisher to the Oline actually helped a bit but the bigger story in this game (IMO) is that Frost called a better game. I saw the ball being thrown a lot quicker than what has been happening. Oregon did take some shots down the field but FAR FAR less than what we have been doing which was a good thing as the defense didn't have the time to get to MM. I thought that the running backs ran fast and hard into the line which was better than they have been doing. I would really like to see Charles Nelson moved to the back field. I believe that he is a play-maker and that we are not using him up to his potential. I know that he's faster than Tyner and Freeman but I certainly believe that he's quicker as well and would give the team a great speed option. I don't think it's going to happen but it's one of those things that should. We actually threw the ball to the TE's this game and MM didn't have the same exact catches as the whole TE group like last week (5 catches this week versus 1 last week). My gripe is that it is still taking to long for our Ducks to get rolling in the game and that our starters on defense let up in the 4th quarter. I find both of these issues starting with coaching. Maybe I could understand it if we had our back ups in but we didn't. I am a very big believer that coaches set the tone and the players will live up to it. If the coaches have that tone set to low then that's a problem. I still believe that the defense is allowing teams to stay in the game from a scheme/play calling standpoint. Now it's time to prepare for the Washington Fuskies. They seem to have a really opportunistic defense and one of the fastest players in the nation. In addition to that, I have a lot of respect for Chris Peterson. I believe that MH out-coached Mora today but Rich-Rod out-coached MH last week. Can MH out-coach Peterson and the Fuskies?
I had to leave after the end of the 3rd quarter....what was up with UCLA's 20 point 4th quarter? Did the Ducks put their backups in?
