Oregon might be winning by huge margins, but they still look like they have a ton of room to improve.
The defense doesn't have nearly as much to work on as the offense does. If we ever find a true rhythm, I think this team will be unstoppable on offense.
you being worried might be Oregon's good luck charm. Thinking opponents are gaining confidence while seeing Duck foes getting crushed by 3-4 TDs when Oregon isn't really playing well seems a stretch... don't hurt those tender hammies of yours! STOMP
I'm just glad we've had a softball schedule so far. It has given our young guys time to get some experience and work out the kinks. Fortunately the defense is already playing at mid-season form.
I'm not going to lie. I've been spoiled by the team over the last couple years so it's hard to watch us make simple errors.
I don't expect us to be this meniacal jugernaut steam roling everyione we play. I also know teams make mistakes- and sometimes costly ones. That's football. But I also don't expect the #2 team in the nation to make repeated mistakes on read/option plays, a near inability to make a good hand off, consistent poor punting and some other things. I see a fair amount of room for general improvement as we've been beating up patsies. .
Kind of a 'meh' game to be at. Other than some horrible calls against Oregon in the first half, it would have been a blow-out. Hardly any blitzes by the defense, and basically just sat back in a zone and waited until Wazzu made mistakes or missed on passes. Still, it was cute seeing the Wazzu fans thinking they still had a chance at half-time, and their fanbase is 1000000x better than the fans of the team that actually lives in Seattle.
