<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Big Nasty:</div><div class="quote_post">Vince should stay out the All-Star game all together. He may break a leg doin' a layup or somethin'....</div> That's hilarious. I think that the players want to think that they're important before they really are. Jordan and Nique stayed in the comp for years, until they had nothing left to prove. Guys like Kobe and VC win once and get out, and figure they've 'payed their dues' so that they're above the competition. But really, its because both realize that their dunk image could get tarnished by losing a comp to newer and younger stars. The competition isn't as fun to watch anymore, but not because all dunk possiblities have been exhausted. Its because the talent pool that competes each year is thinned out. And this bogus rule only encourages it. Soon, the dunk comp will be like the Rookie Challenge, only open to 1st and 2nd year players.

Think about it,if they can't play with their team when it counts they shouldn't be allowed to play for fun.

I hate this... We should protest about this experience rule... I want to see Vince Carter win it again!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinsanityMK:</div><div class="quote_post">I hate this... We should protest about this experience rule... I want to see Vince Carter win it again!!</div> The "rule" was put in because players like Vince did not care. Now not one guy can turn it around, a group of NBA stars need to knock on Stern's door and say "we want in" Don't take this blame away from Vince now, not right.
Im very surprised how many people didnt know the three year rule, seriously people if u watched any bball u would know they had it last year. Any way there might as well only be one contestant this year, j rich, they can put his name on the trophy right now, noone else can touch him in the dunk comp.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">darn... Who will fill the last 2 spots now? .</div> Chris Anderson and J-Rich are performing in it for sure ?

Chris Andersen? After years of watching dunk competitions, I've come to the conclusion that big guys can't win it-i.e, Amare, Jonathan Bender etc. I think the other two will be Richard Jefferson and maybe Desmond Mason?

I'm tired of explaining myself over and over again. Please read this thread before you suggest any players. Those 2 can't do it Franchise, sorry.

But Desmond obviously CAN NOT !
Richard jefferson was a friggin joke in the dunk competition last year, even amare gave us some nice dunks. But jefferson doesnt deserve to be back this year IMO, he has shown me tat he is not dunk contest material. Theres lotsa guys to choose from though, im curious to see who they pick, better not pick jefferson and if they do i will give him a chance to prove himself.

Jefferson can, even though I wouldn't wanna see him there again.
