What about Steve Francis guys? Hes pulled off some flashy dunks this season and has the most facial dunks so far.

I could see Andre Iguodala make it. It looks like he has the potential to jump out of the gym but hasn`t pulled of a GREAT dunk this season so far.

I don't care if Lebron dunks or not. All he has to do is a few chin-ups on the top of the backboard and come down as someobyd throws the ball into the air and he dunks it.

Personally, I've never really cared who is in the dunk contest. But can somebody leap over a 7'2" dude again? I missed it when it was in the Olympics awhile ago, so why can't we see someone else do it?

I actually think Childress may have a chance.

I hope LeBron and Wade get in there. For me, the 3-point shootout is more entertaining because I actually recognize the players in there. Who wants to see a bunch of nobodies dunk a basketball?

    ME!!!

Are you kidding me. Vince Carter was once a nobody. Now look. He could average 3.6, 2.1, 0.5 and still be an all star.

Hey, maybe Fred Jones or Bron-Bron will bring out a 7'2 French dude and shock you all. Is it just me or was Chris Andersen lame last year. I liked Ricky Davis. But Freddy, YAY! Who else was it last year? Oh yeah, J-Rich. He's getting old personally. The backwards B.T.L. was hot but that's about it. I miss the 80's contests.

And by the way, if they wanted ratings this is who they'd put:

    Earl Boykins

    Mark Madsen

    Tony Parker

Larry Hughes (Best Dunk Contest/Disaster, does anyone remember that?)

    yuta tabuse
    chauncey billups
    mark madsen

I`d like to see Francis and D-Wade in it, but I want Andre all the way.

Chris Wilcox would be awesome. He's got some serious hops and one of the best windmill jams in the game.

    Wilcox
    Ariza
    Igoudala
and just for kicks, Tractor Traylor

Anyhow, hi everyone. My very first post

Yeah Ariza seems like he has some nice hops. I didn`t know about Wilcox and his dunking skills. Just wondering, don`t you have to be a rookie-3 year pro to be in the Slam Dunk Contest?

    BTW- Welcome Hitch.

Ok, for one the people are ridiculous by sayng JR Smith because this dude 5 total points all season and they aren't going to pick someone who no one knows about.

And second Wilcox is a power dunker, can you actually see Wilcox's big ass do some fancy stuff to get good ratings in the contest? No.

Also, Wilcox's 2 dunks last night weren't that great. Just plain old one hand dunks with no one in front of him.

You haven't seen some of his best dunks. He is a power dunker, but he can fly. I've seen him dunk from the free throw line. I'm pretty sure he can pull out a few tricks.

Sorry buddy, but Jones gets plenty of minutes thoughout each game and Wallace starts for his squad.

A there has been a ton of times where I've seen them bust out some nasty dunks.

    JR Smith who?

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Is it just me or was Chris Andersen lame last year.</div>

Oh believe me, it is just you who feels that Chris Andersen was lame last year. He got robbed and should have won the contest. Even if you don't believe that, then you have to at admitt that his dunks were far from lame.

I don't understand why just about everyone forgot to mention him as well. Chris has said that after being shafted last year, that he'll probably be in the contest this year and will be looking for revenge.

Anyway, I'm not predicting who I think will be in it, but here are, in my opinion, the four most qualified dunkers -

    1) Jason Richardson
    2) Vince Carter
    3) Chris Andersen
    4) Stromile Swift (Yes, he is a center, but that doesn't stop him from doing spectacular dunks, even in games. I've seen him do some of the sickest 360's in the Grizzlies' layup line.)

    1. Fred Jones
    2. Vince Carter
    3. Steve Francis
    4. Andre Iguodala

I think it's only right the reigning champ gets a chance to defend his title.
