They're playing @ Cleveland tomorrow on the second game of a back to back and then another back to back @ Min and vs. Washington.

How crazy would it be if we made the playoffs and they didn't?</div>

Pacers lost and Sixers won! We need the Sixers to make the PO's so we get their pick!

Dun actually had a good game for the Pacers tonight, 17 pts on 7-11 shooting, although that follows up a horrible performance in their last game. And that's just the problem with Dun, you can't count on him to help you.

And wow, look at Diogu's numbers tonight: 32 min, 7-14 FG, 3-3 FT, 17 pts, 7 reb, 1 stl, 1 blk. That's pretty impressive for a guy who has been getting 5 minutes most nights. I think it's been proven that Diogu needs big minutes to perform well, I hope he gets more of them.

I think I read on the ESPN sports clicker thing that Jermaine will miss a few more games, which should mean that Ike will be getting more minutes.

Yeah, since Dunleavy has such an inconsistent shot, he has never really become that great of a starter. When he is attacking the rim he is a little bit better. But otherwise Dunleavy is so-so and will probably remain that way throughout his career. But when Dunleavy's shot is going, he can put up some good stats, especially if he is rebounding. Didn't he get like 20 boards in a game once? I suppose when you look at Dunleavy with expectations that resemble his extention and favoritism over Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison, and others, then Dunleavy looks horrible. If you don't care about contracts then Dunleavy can appear to be decent. Dunleavy was not necessarly part of the losing problem. The only thing is that he wasn't and didn't seem like he was going to become part of the winning for this team either. Nelson likes players who can exploit mismatches and advantages and even though Dunleavy (and Murphy as well) has the features to support exploiting matchups, he never could take full advantage with those features. To go back to the shooting: when players off the street like Brian Cardinal and Matt Barnes can come in and look like far superior shooters than Dunleavy, then things just aren't quite right.

Dunleavy is Dunleavy and he is going to be Dunleavy. That is all there is to it. He will be so-so for most of his career. And I suppose being so-so can appear to be more valuable to a winning team compared to where the Warriors have been since he was on the team. Dunleavy being so-so with his big contract wasn't good for this organization, and trading him was good. I am happy he is liking it in Indiana though. And if Indiana still likes Dunleavy then that is great as well. I guess if they could handle Austin Croshere for how long they did, they could handle Dunleavy and his contract.

Not only make the playoffs, but the Sixers need to make the higher of the 8th seed. The Philly pick is top 15 protected instead of 14. If Philly keeps the pick (likely), then Mark Cuban gets $1 million dollars. The Warriors get "trade obligations will be extinguished."

Tracy Murray, Dana Barros, Cedric Ceballos, Jim Jackson, Tony Delk... what do they all have in common? Each has had a 50-point game in their career.

Why didn't you know that? Because these aren't great players.

Anyone can have a good game once in a while. Occaisional stats don't mean jack. Not that Dunleavy could ever score 50, but, like most EVERY run-of-the-mill player in the NBA, he has an occaisional good game.

But when you look at his career, you'll see:

    CAREER: 10.7 pts, 4.7 reb, 2.5 ast, 0.8 stl, 0.2 blk, 1.57 TO, .433 FG%, .346 3PT%, .769 FT%

That's just what that is. Plain and simple. Guess what Tony Delk's career numbers are? Yeah, you guessed it.

Occasional good games are standard. Everyone has them. Who cares? Its what you do over the course of a season, and over a career, that matters.

So far, Dunleavy has been a decent bench player with an exorbiant starter's contract. He's not the only one (Foyle, etc). But it is what it is. He's never produced consistently. Maybe INDY is waiting on him to have a breakout year.
