KD should be starting for any team in the league because he is a top 5 player.

The answer most would have liked to hear is if CJ said he would do anything to win. Think Manu in SA or AI in Golden St. CJ's mindset is he is one of the top 5 Blazers and should be starting. I agree with KD that it is a horrible mindset to have.

maybe everything KD is saying isn't wrong? truth hurts. Also, maybe his demeanor and outlook about Portland has a little to do with not being picked by them?

Ok here’s my admittedly biased take on Durant. I was at a Warriors practice last year with my sons. I was standing on the court. I turn around and see my sons sitting in the front row in a full conversation with KD. He went over, shook hands, sat down, and gave them a memory for the rest of their lives. Wasn’t asked to do it. Just did it. Can’t beat that.

He was C.J.'s guest on his podcast and was disrespectful, even if he was "just kidding".

If someone invites you into their home and you brag about how much better your home is, how their shitty little home doesn't even belong in the same neighborhood as yours, you are a douche. Even if you try to dismiss your own douchieness with the disclaimer "just kidding".

If you had nothing to do with designing and building that home and simply moved in, but brag about your beautiful home and put down other's who are trying to build their own home, you are an even bigger douche.

Especially if you tried to build your own home, failed, and said fuck it, let someone else do the work, I'll move into a finished mansion and then give myself credit for the beautiful home I've built.

Durant comes across as someone who is smug, arrogant and needs to prop up his own ego by putting others he considers below him in their place. So yeah, pretty much a douche. A very talented douche, but still a douche.

That's cool. He, obviously, did not feel threatened by your sons and felt no need to put them down to make himself feel better about being a ring chasing traitor. Kevin Durant will always be the poster boy for "If you can't beat them, join them".

KD and I both interpreted the original comment as in place of Nurk. It felt like cj CYA when he backpedaled and said they could play together. They cannot. I would imagine everyone would agree with that. Only one can start.

BTW, how many of us would have ditched Westbrook to move to a team that plays like a team at the highest level? I don't really fault Durrant for that. I also don't mind his swagger too much. He has earned it to a certain extent. You can talk like that when you have done what he has done--as a Warrior and on his own.

I think they believe they are one more CJ to Dame level player away from having a legit shot. We certainly wouldn't be favored to beat the W's, but we'd probably be able to hang with the Rockets.

The tough part is making that happen...

I guess you can interpret it like that, but I certainly did not.

These guys certainly have a lot of respect for each other and imho KD did not diss him, just gave him his assessment of the team.

I think his swagger is compensation for insecurity. I think he is what we always thought he would be. An awesome player. A scoring machine. But he was never going to be the center cog on a championship team.

Though he may learn to be that player by playing with true champions. It was a good move for him. It was the only way he was ever going to win a title.

To be fair OKC with WB was right there and should’ve beat GS, we can blame WB all we want but KD was just as guilty for why they lost to the warriors that year. It’s not like WB is so bad they couldn’t win together...

My point isn’t that OKC wasn’t close, but playing with Steph and the Ws would be more fun than with Westbrook. Life is short.

I listened to the podcasts. I also share the same opinions stated here.

Our roster was broken, and as of so far, it looks to have further degraded.

Idk...if Kerr somehow got wind of this conversation I could see him having KD come off the bench for a game or two just to troll him. Kerr is quickly becoming Pop in being able to troll his players haha

What they say in public and what they truly believe are obviously two different things. I can't imagine after last year's exit they really believe we are close. At the same time I really don't want Dame and cj talking in the media saying "yep, we screwed the pooch last year and now we are even more F'd Up. Sorry fans. Sucks to be you."

Some of you guys seem to be in your feelings. Man the Durant hate is stupid. These guys are friends. They are busting each others balls man, like any other friendship between men go. CJ flew out to New York to get KD on the podcast because they have been talking about it. They are fucking with each other. No need to get your asses hurt
