There is no guaranty Ant & Sharpe will win anything either. Even if Sharpe is great, he may not like Portland and force his way out. Have to live in the moment. Either way, i'm still gonna root for the Blazers. But Durant joining Dame could be special.
You really want to waste the rest of Dame's prime? I don't. Either go all in and grab someone like Durant, or tear this shit down and trade Dame and start over. It doesn't have to happen now, but by the deadline please.
Would you do Dame for Durant? I wouldn't but some may think Durant and Simons, Hart & Sharpe would be just as potent?
If that change made us contenders, sure. But it wouldn't and would defeat the purpose of trading for Durant. Durant without Dame on our team is not a contender. Durant with Dame is a contender.
Oh, so this is the day that we go around again on tearing it all down or else we're wasting the last years of Dame's prime. I'll check in tomorrow.
If you like getting bounced in the first round or play in while Dame continues to age, thats cool. I don't.
When i played sports it was considered a winning team to make the playoffs. The all or nothing mentality ends up with nothing 99% of the time.
Yes. Small market teams generally get stars through the draft. We need more than one star to really contend.
Well the NBA is a bit unique in the fact that you don't even have to be at the 50th percentile to make the playoffs. I don't see how being 16th out of 30 is something to celebrate.
Ill take a series of playoffs over an 8-15 lotto pick every year. Lotto is just as big a gamble. Almost all players come from the draft. Many more bomb than succeed. Sounds like you prefer major let downs most years over some competitive play and a playoff showing. To each their own.
Oh, I have opinions on this subject, but like all of us, I've shared them in multiple similar threads. Sorry to put a damper on your fun. Chase that big trade for a superstar laser pointer, cat.
I like trying to acquire talent. A higher draft pick could bust, but as long as you draft well, the likelihood someone will hit is better the higher you are picking. Getting bounced in the first with no chance at competing for a title is not fun. I'd like to see a title in my lifetime and what we are doing right now is not it. But, as I stated, more than happy to wait and watch us play .500 ball until the trade deadline where hopefully they make a move.
