    <span class="titolo">"Sexy" Gullit Reportedly in for L.A. Galaxy Job</span></p>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>What&rsquo;s in a word? When that word is &ldquo;sexy,&rdquo; perhaps a lot. Especially in Los Angeles.

Days after L.A. Galaxy president Alexi Lalas described his ideal candidate to replace outgoing coach Frank Yallop as a &ldquo;sexy type of candidate,&rdquo; reports out of England claim Dutch legend Ruud Gullit, coiner of the phrase &ldquo;sexy football,&rdquo; has shockingly become odds-on favorite to take reins at the struggling MLS club.

"There certainly is interest in a high-profile, sexy type of candidate,&rdquo; Lalas said. &ldquo; Not simply because this is the Galaxy and this is Los Angeles, but because we are looking to bring in somebody who can do something different."

When contacted by Goal.com, Lalas had no comment on the Gullit rumor. But it&rsquo;s known that Gullit flew to the United States yesterday. Reportedly, the Galaxy will announce the hiring later this week.

Gullit, 45, played at, among others, PSV Eindhoven, Sampdoria, and Chelsea, but he is most famous for his years at AC Milan, where he won two European Cups. He has previously coached Chelsea, where he won the FA Cup, and Newcastle United, where he is most remembered for benching club legend Alan Shearer. The Magpies lost the match against local rivals Sunderland, and Gullit was gone three days later. He coached Feyenoord in the Dutch Eredivisie for one year, before quitting in 2005.</div></p>

It would open things for MLS as well. I'm sure he'd be able to bring Dutch players later on, and if the MLS teams open their wallets, in a couple of years they could become just like an European league.</p>
